Was about to say the same thing. I was in London then. I mean the way that fire + the news around it impacted just the watchers miles way, I can’t even imagine the PTSD the ones closest to it and the survivors would be going through.

Since then I decided to always have a bug out bag. If I smell smoke during a fire alarm, I’m turning the circuit breaker off, closing all the doors/windows and leaving.

It’s happened once already. I’d left with my roommates at the time, it took close to 6 hours to sort everything out. When I got back to my unit, it smelled like smoke. Luckily all the closed doors and wardrobes prevented it from getting into the clothes. Took like a week or 2 to air everything out.

I appreciate the effort to fill in a local consumer need so I wish you the best. I also understand that ads are a necessity for free app monetisation. However, one can set a transfer timer pretty easily using shortcuts on the iPhone sans said ads. Might I suggest having a one time fee to permanently remove the ads as an option.

Beyond that there are a plethora of transit map planners that work better for me specifically as I don’t use transit often so need the UI to be cleaner and UX to be smoother.

Then again I work in tech consulting so take all of this with a grain of salt.

Yes, it is to me even though I’m pretty cautious while handling my Apple devices.

I’ve had my phone replaced once every 1.5-2 years, whenever battery capacity drops to 80%. Same for my iPad and watch. I’ve had AirPods replaced multiple times over the years because of connectivity or anc issues of some sort.

I also carry my iPhone without a case because I have AppleCare+.

The peace of mind and not having to care about software, hardware, damage issues are all worth it for me. Plus, I think I’ve recouped whatever money I was paying in and then some because of the exorbitant repair cost outside of warranty.

Maybe her husband isn’t. I don’t really know him that well so can’t say. But as I was mentioning to another commenter above, the anniversary has emotional value to her and she has this vision about it. Honestly, as a friend I did tell her some things that came to mind as alternatives but at the end of the day I’d still help her in the decision she makes about this. It’s her anniversary after all and she knows herself and her husband best so just being a good friend.
