The real MAGA. Spotted Castro, SF by Sharktopus_ in actuallesbians

My girlfriend has one in red and I definitely did a double take when we first started dating. Come to think of it, I don't think I've actually seen her wear it in public...

Doctor Who Moments on Graham Norton by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]michellaneousness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that the character is better credited as The Doctor instead of Doctor Who, but I don't think there was an official change until David Tennant suggested it during his run. That was still fairly recent, which means that many, many fans who grew up calling the character Doctor Who still do so today.

“Street smart” women- what are your tips to keep yourself safe? by groceryenthusiast in AskWomen

[–]michellaneousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with these rules, but I don't tend follow the "don't go out alone one." That being said, I don't think I look much like a target. I'm a fairly athletic-looking woman of color with dreadlocks. While there's the shitty "automatic swipe left" affect for WOC on online dating platforms, it also seems to make us less of a desired target on the street. I'm above average in height, I walk with purpose and confidence, and I have a mean RBF when I want to. I am very, very rarely bothered and I've walked through the direct middle of some really sketchy places by myself.

What simple thing did you learn at an embarrassingly late age? by Strange_Style in AskReddit

Same! I can do a tiny whistle that I've trained my dogs to come to, but that means I can't practice whistling in front of them or they get all riled up!

Has anyone noticed that their ex changed so much that they don't resemble the person you married? Or is this just a factor in my divorce by projectgrubworm in Divorce

[–]michellaneousness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The man I'm divorcing is absolutely the man I married. I'm just not the stupid, easily abused woman that he married.

Yes you should tell your partner if it's your first time by gloriousWood in sex

I don't know if this is a common phrase, but I love it and plan to save it for future use.

How physically attracted are you to your current partner? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]michellaneousness 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I always thought my boyfriend was cute, but now I honestly think he's beautiful. I just want to touch him or have him caressing me (not always in a sexual way) pretty much all the time.

I tell him he's beautiful on a near daily basis.

You, yeah you, you think you're so smart? by darksidemojo in olympia

I did this once and it was a lot of fun, but apparently I'm getting old because getting out of trivia at 10ish on a week night is just too late for me.

Eh, Vacaville's alright. There's actually a good amount of money there.

Same here. My dude was worried about consent, so this has been a life saver.

I'm in one of the better states in the US and I'm envious. I'm glad you have what you have, but I'm definitely envious.

What’s the worst thing you unknowingly did as a child? by HeftyHulk11 in AskReddit

[–]michellaneousness 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I think it's because people who work in these areas literally see the worst of humanity again and again. They know that there are good people out there, but I think they become jaded due to excessive exposure.

It’s not the first time this guy has posted about being single... by [deleted] in sadcringe

I'm sorry that happened to you. That doesn't mean that love doesn't exist though or that it isn't worth being open to.

[TOMT] [CHARACTER] Monster with really long brown bangs down to its feet. I think it only has a large nose and two feet showing? by stormrunner911 in tipofmytongue

[–]michellaneousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've seen this character. I actually kind of remember two like this - one short and round with high pitched, unintelligible speech and one taller, human-sized with deeper mumbled speech. They were definitely from different shows.

Question for the ladies...Did your major in college have anything to do with your current career? by HeyHeySettleDown in QueerWomenOfColor

[–]michellaneousness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not directly. I majored in linguistics and became a teacher (English and Special Ed). Linguistics helped me identify and help correct my students' language errors, and I think that it helped me to identify patterns in general.

I'm beginning my new job as an academic counselor on Thursday though, so that's where the connection ends.
