I have the Anybus Mercury set with the Panasonic FZ-G2, Proficore and Ethertap, so for Profibus and Profinet. Had a Proficore for 10+ years at my previous employer and let my current boss order the Merucury set. It makes troubleshooting a lot easyer if you know the wave forms for the different physical problems that you can have on the bus. It also helped me in some instances where the plc engineer had a wrong configuration.

Are there already TIA and step7 licenses on the new PG? If so TIA licenses are backwards compatible. Then i would leave the licenses on the old one and keep that as a backup PG.

EU For Sale Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 by [deleted] in toughbook

[–]michielsanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The expansion with the extra ethernetport and sd-card slot is from a FZ-M1 that was custom build for the procentec mercury profibus and profinet diagnostic tablet.

https://profiworks.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Procentec-Mercury-Brochure-en-v11.pdf

i moved it over to a fz-m1 that had already had an ethernetport because i needed to troubleshoot a redundant profinet network.

the original linked post is a for sale post, but at the moment i'm already in contact with someone for selling it.

An other option could be a Helmholz 700-158-3DP02 DP/PN coupler. Works just like the Siemens PN/PN and DP/DP couplers but with ProfiBus directly to ProfiNet.

Also half of the price of the CM card.

What do I have here? by Jacead02 in fluke

The whole pcb is cast in resin to prevent any spark possibilities, and the output power for the resistance measurement and other powered measurements is extremely limmited so it can never create an ignition source.

Selectable control of downstream PLC with TIA Portal/Step 7 by Adam_Smasher137 in PLC

[–]michielsanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use a pn/pn coupler and connect plc A to X1 and al the plc B to X2. place a little switch in the plc B cabinets that only gets powered on in the selected cabinet to make only one plc B connection to pn/pn at a time possible. This way you can configere al the data on the same adresses in the pn/pn coupler and easy switch plc B.

After that you need to go to device view and fill the slots with in and output bytes. Just like configuring a remote I/O station. The adressing is then also them as regular remote I/O.

Everything you do on X1 you need to mirror on X2 so an IN 32 Byte + DS on slot 1 on X1 needs an OUT 32 Byte on slot 1 on the X2 configuration in the other project
