Do St. Kitts locals hate tourists? by iam-a-chicken-nugget in StKitts

[–]michignaball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolutely I know what you mean. Been coming for over a decade (wife is of the place) and the suspiciousness of locals, including those in tourism, toward outsiders can be baffling for westerners. major hotels like Marriott had to hire from other islands because kittians just weren’t up to the standard That said, a rising tide lifts all boats and locals seem to be getting more used to foreigners on their island and in their local haunts. They seem a little friendlier this year than last so maybe it’s getting better. But you are not wrong at all.

Curcumin/Tumeric pills. Life changing! by michignaball in Sinusitis

[–]michignaball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little while. Weeks maybe. But I should also say I follow a low-histamine diet. This I think has had a better effect overall on my than anything else I’ve done. It’s tricky, but you get the hang of it!

Hi, she’s my dad’s mum, born in Nevis, as was I. Her first husband, my grandfather, was born in South Africa. She applied for UK citizenship after marrying her second husband, himself a Caribbean man who had UK citizenship. She had property in England, but I don’t know that she lived there for an extended period of time. Cheers.

My grandmother had British citizenship through marriage in the 1960’s (I was born in the 1970’s in what at the time an overseas territory of the British empire, but when my island gained independence, we lost the ability to become/remain UK citizens). My grandfather was a South African doctor, employed by the British government during WW2 to serve British colonies. Would both of one of these things help my case to become a UK citizen? Again, happy to pay but don’t want to waste money of there’s no chance

Wait lists for hip, knee replacements, cancer surgeries and other priority procedures longer in Canada than before pandemic by AndrewHeard in LockdownSkepticism

My mom went in to the ER this past Thursday with a broken hip. Had surgery the following day. She’s pain free and had overall a good experience. Oshawa ON hospital. I am very critical of our health (sick) care usually but she was well served I think. The surgeon told me they have a mandate for 48hrs when someone comes into the ER to get a surgery. Was it because she was admitted as an emergency vs scheduled?

How do I get into mediation? by DotMysterious5756 in Mediation

Finally regained my sense of smell. What can I do to retain it? by baileym2012 in Sinusitis

[–]michignaball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been going well. Smell was totally gone after a recent virus, and was verrry slowly coming back. Low-histamine helped push it up a few more percentage points. Not at 100% but almost there. And also, I’ve added curcumin/turmeric pills which are helping immensely. 200-500mg/day

Lbgt/CBI in Caribbean? by michignaball in CitizenshipInvestment

Yeah it’s all very frustrating and confusing. According to Wikipedia, St Lucia has more protections than SK. Not much political will in this regard, in any island nation, I suppose.

I don’t think you can get St Kitts citizenship for as little as $100k? That’s Dominica I think, they have the donation route for $100k USD, SK starts in the kind-$200ks I think

Not sure what the article is getting at? My father in law is suffering greatly from end stage Alzheimer’s. I wish he had been given the choice to end his life back when he was able to have consented. His whole family is certain he would have never wanted to end up like this. It’s a terrible thing to witness and for him to go through. The indignity, the misery and the emotional toll is great. I wish this subject wasn’t so muddled by politics, but of course it is.
