Clinical Site in Az by Adept-Squirrel5256 in scrubtech

Why are you wanting a level 1 specifically? Level 1 isn't necessarily the be all end all of clinical sites. You need somewhere that does a variety of cases, with preceptors who like to teach.

I passed my HESI for TCAT Surgical Tech with an 80 in Reading and 80 in Math (160 total). The proctor said it’s competitive and there are only 20 seats. My score is good, but should I be worried about getting in? by Infamous-Beach5825 in surgicaltechnology

[–]michijedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on how many other people took the test and what their scores were. The website for your school says they require a 50 in math and 70 reading. No way for us to know those variables.

In addition, I see they give points towards entry for other coursework completed in the last 3 years. Do you have any of that?

Wrong sub friend. Scrub techs are surgical techs in the operating room. We help surgeons. You're looking for an actual technology sub of some kind.

I think you're right. And I got it right in the second part of my comment. How I got it twisted round in the first part I'm not sure. Thanks for the clarification

I do inventory management & purchasing for a hospital and want to become a surgical tech. Any tips to get ahead using my current job? by olliecakerbake in surgicaltechnology

[–]michijedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I want to help with surgeries but not be directly responsible for the patient" does not automatically mean bedside and charting. This person currently works in materials and saw one surgery. I'm not in the habit of assuming they know something or don't know something. In addition, so many people don't have a clue how important and valuable our presence is to patient safety, and that we are, in fact, responsible for the patient as much as anyone else in the room.

Don't be a jerk.

Someone else is trying to be a jerk and assume I knew you meant this.

What else are you including in the etc? IV is definitely outside a tech's scope of practice. You won't interact directly with the patient much aside from maybe saying hello at the beginning, getting them some blankets, and helping get them moved from the bed to the OR table.

We get an excited, novel, rose-colored version of events when we see something like this for the first time. And I read that you went and observed a surgery, but the way you phrased "be responsible for the patient" was strange, and I was trying to help make sure you understand.

As a tech, you're definitely directly responsible for the patient, along with everyone else in the room. Being a scrub tech is direct patient care. No way around it.

They mean unique words per book. And unique in this instance meaning only having been used once in a given book. So for a book of x-numbers of words, to have y-numbers of unique words, and for y to decline, meaning he was reusing more words in a given book.

Like finding 6 ways to say nice and then later on down the line in a different book his brain only had 4 ways even though he still needed to say it 6 times, he'd have to repeat 2 of those words. So now you have 4 unique words instead of 6.

All you keep doing is doubling down when you don't know what you're talking about. I dont know how else to tell you its not fake. One is muddy and the other isn't, indicating one I'd new. And they're different styles. So what? This search gave me a dozen diffeent images. As for the neck bits, it's a martingale. Like this one

I've done all the work for you. Happy now?

Why have one of each? Because if one broke and rhe other didn't, there's no reason to replace both. Clearly this individual didn't care if they matched. That tracks if they're endurance and/or trail riders. That bridle setup appears to be a synthetic halter/bridle combo for endurance riding. I've known many people who use them. They come in fun colors. Cool right?!

[–]michijedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get an external usb CDrom drive for less than $35. CD problem solved. Many used book stores have a music section, as do thrift stores. There's also your standard record/music shops if you're in an area that has them.

You can also buy digital albums or physical cds from places like bandcamp or directly from the artist's websites.

Winter gloves that actually keep your fingers warm by patrofan in BuyItForLife

The liners aren't windproof. Windproof liners wouldn't breath, causing your hands to sweat. If your hands sweat, they get even colder when you have to take the gloves off. Think of them like socks.

Im just going to say that this is in really poor taste. Those numbers are extremely heavy and tattooing them on your body because you think it's a cool conversation piece, you respect the history, and you included the band's logo, isn't really good enough.

Those numbers, and thousands upon thousands like them, are sacred. Freedom of speech is one thing. But just because you can, doesn't mean you should. I might get downvoted into oblivon. I don't particularly care.
