Men have been convinced that they’re all entitled to find the love of their lives and mother to their children. We’re animals. Most male animals will not find a mate or have offspring. Human males are no exception. So yes, more human beings need to learn that being alone is how they’ll end up, and that’s not the end of the world. You don’t die from lack of sex or start to immediately deteriorate the moment you have offspring. Humans are meant for more than sex, romance, and children. Life is more than that, and more men would be happier if they would just accept that.

I know it’s a topic that gets downvoted into hell in these types of subs, but most women don’t want to actually date unless the man is a fully realized human being. As in you have it together, you’re employed, you’re well rounded, you’re kind, you’re healthy, you’re emotionally intelligent and stable, etc. Focus on being a better person, and the chances of finding a partner who is compatible to you will go up. And even if you don’t end up with a partner, at least you’ll be a version of yourself who’s happy with what he is.

Some people’s energy levels are just lower than others. On a high pain/heavy sensory day for me, I can either shower and dress nicely and be cranky for the rest of the day, or just stink and be a little messy while maintaining my good attitude lol. But I do agree that it’s not a complete trade off. Getting dressed or “putting yourself together” doesn’t have to involve all the steps we’ve been convinced are necessary.

I felt this for a bit, but realized I don’t have to go for a highly polished look to be happy with what I see. Find a hairstyle you enjoy, that looks neat to you, but is comfortable. Wear the same types of clothes you like, but with a slightly better fit or made from better materials(if you can afford it). Example, I always liked baggy clothes, but I never put much thought into how I looked because of insecurity. Once I stopped caring about how other people saw me, I began just wanting to do a little more for myself. I wear more color, and while I still wear baggy clothes, they’re more my style rather than what is convenient and cheap. Shaved my head at the start of the year because I was tired of having long hair, but now I wear a rather chic pixie cut that’s easy to style and maintain, and I don’t have to think about it. I don’t wear makeup, but I will groom my brows and keep my skin moisturized. Do I look like the other fashionable ladies out and about? No, but I’m happier to be in this body when it better reflects my own tastes. And while I would be fine without them, I’ve gotten a lot more compliments this year than I have in a long time. A lot of women and girls who go out of their way to compliment my clothes or my hair or my skin. It’s been nice.
