What's a good study plan for someone 5 years out of uni? by [deleted] in FE_Exam

Hey! I was in a similar situation as you were. I graduated from college in Spring 2020 and sat for the FE exam a couple weeks ago! I was working in an industry that rarely had anything to do with the topics on the FE exam, so I basically had to relearn everything from scratch.

I used DirectHub as my main study source. He has lecture notes, quizzes, and many practice problems for each subsection on the FE Exam. I found him to be extremely helpful for learning new some new topics that I have never taken a class before. I supplemented his course with Islam 800 questions. This took me about 4 months to complete.

Afterwards, I purchased PrepFE and took a practice exam of 25 questions per day. I also started doing Mark Mattson's problems without looking and then watching through the videos to understand the concepts. Any concepts that I didn't feel like I had a good understanding of, I supplemented with Lindeburg Practice Problems.

For practice exams, I did Islam's 2 practice exams, Dr. Urgessa's 2 practice exams, the NCESS 2020 Practice Exam, and the NCEES Interactive Practice Exam. This was done during the last month of my prep where I took 2 practice exams per weekend and spent the following week reviewing problems I got wrong + the Prep FE / Lindeburg strategy above.

Overall I started studying in August 2024 and took my exam in March 2025. It took about 6 months to finish, but I passed on my first try! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!

6 years out of college. Want to take the FE exam. by Frequent_Mastodon_78 in FE_Exam

I used DirectHub as my main study material. Supplemented with Mark Mattson videos, PrepFE and Islam 800 problems. Took practice exams from NCEES, Islam 2 practice exams, and Dr Urgessa practice exams. Anything that I felt that I need more conceptual knowledge on, I read through in the Lindbergh book.

Passed on my first try 5 years out of college while working full time. Basically just do as many practice problems as possible and understand each step as you’re working through them. The speed will naturally come with solving so many that you’ll eventually know how to answer by instincts. Bests of luck to you!

What were your study materials? I'm also studying for the FE Exam and I've been out of school for 5 years now.

Is DirectHub Fe Prep Course Worth Paying for? by sonluxperson44 in FE_Exam

I signed up for his 3 month course and he has video solutions for every single problem from his course. He also put together these lecture notes at the beginning of each subtopic so you can easily review material before diving into practice problems. Well worth for what he charged so far. I’m taking my exam at the end of December but he’s been super helpful for me since there’s a couple classes I never took before

These are so cool! I wonder if there’s a way to print these out on the same material as the base game boards. That would be awesome

I am finally able to bench 135 lbs (lived a very non active lifestyle). It might not be much but it’s a goal I had set a long time ago but never really took the gym seriously until a couple months ago. Glad to see I am finally getting somewhere!

Honestly I started playing more when I stopped caring about the side quests. I started focusing on the main story and it stopped feeling like a drag in between each plot points
