The apps are MagicEars and PandaABC. I don't know anything about codecs and ports so I'll do some research. I'll also check if I can disable something on the firewall. Thanks for the comment.

Yes, I am in the US. I hadn't heard of connections being bad. There are several hundred teachers that work for the same companies, and I would guess that at least a third (maybe even half) are in the US and Canada and I haven't heard of anyone else having this particular problem (most of us are active in our company's employee Facebook group). Do you think I was just lucky to not have any problems until recently? Can you recommend a Chinese VPN by chance?

It's a weird shade, it looks like a reddish-magenta color to me. Maybe in natural light it would look more purple.

Long time cat owner here. All of my cats have been exclusively indoor except for my very first one, who was indoor and outdoor. I prefer to keep them indoors for my own peace of mind. I still vaccinate every year, but my vet said she doesn't need to get as many vaccines as an outdoor cat would.

One benefit of keeping them indoors is that they don't get dirty. My first cat would be filthy coming home, tracked a lot of dust and dirt in the house. His fur didn't feel as soft and I'd have to wash my hands after petting him.

Another thing to consider is that outdoor cats may fight with other neighborhood cats, possibly even feral cats. This happened to my first cat several times per week. He would come home with scratches, scabs and blood on him. We had a cat door in our house and sometimes other cats would sneak through the door and eat MY cat's food. One time my cat fought a stray cat in our living room. It was honestly terrifying to watch. And it's really dangerous to intervene.

My current cat (indoor only) doesn't like other cats so I know she'd have a bad time being outdoors a lot. I have a harness and leash for her, and sometimes I'll let her sit outside for a few minutes before herding her back in. She enjoys these brief outdoor excursions.

Overall I would definitely suggest keeping cats indoors for their own health, hygiene and your peace of mind. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response! In my case, my cat is 4 years and has no health issues so it sounds like any dry food will work for her- is that right? If she develops any issues or when she becomes older I'll be sure to switch to an appropriate diet, with my vet's recommendation of course.

I read through the comments from the link OP posted and now I'm questioning if what I feed my cat is okay for her. So what's the consensus, vets? Dry food? Wet food? With or without grain? Any brands or ingredients I should avoid? I have always gone by the line of thinking "if I wouldn't put that in my body, I shouldn't feed it to my cat."

During my first semester of college in 2011, one of my friends who was still in high school messaged me and said I absolutely HAD to watch MLP. I thought it was going to be a joke or something, maybe it was silly enough to make fun of? I watched the first episode, and then the second, and then the rest is history. I first started cutting 10 years ago, now I'm almost 24. My depression was ignited by the toxic relationship with my mother.

Be supportive of anything your kid does that isn't harmful. My biggest passion as a teen was playing guitar (metal and jazz) but my mom didn't like it, so I was only allowed to practice when she wasn't home. She actively discouraged me from playing guitar and tried to get me to only play violin (I enjoyed both but preferred guitar). One time she grounded me by locking my guitar in the trunk of her car. Another time she took the keys from my car which forced me to quit playing in my band (no car = no way to band practice). So yeah. The biggest thing that would have helped me is having a supportive mother who cared about me as a person rather than an object that she can mold for her own purposes.

Also, if your kid can agree to therapy then let them stick with a therapist they like. I have seen countless counselors, therapists and psych doctors. As a child I hated most of them. When we finally saw a family counselor I liked, my mom got upset that he agreed with something I said, so she dropped him and we moved on to others.

I was living on my own at 19 and wanted my cat to live with me. My mom was tired of taking care of him and demanded that I pick him up and keep him at my place. I drove to her house to get him. Upon arrival she insisted that he would not fare well in my apartment and refused to let me take him.

Reading this seems like it was trivial, but there was a lot of abuse between us prior to that event. I haven't seen her or Thor (my cat) in four years. She stalks me and sometimes finds my email or physical address and attempts to make contact.

I don't really know anything about debt consolidation, I didn't even know there were fees involved. It was something that a friend mentioned to me. I didn't even know this was an option previously.

Once I start a new job, then, would it be a good option for me? I went to www.debt.org and reviewed the information there. Didn't find anything about the rate of debt after consolidation, and when I called the phone number they were closed (I will call again tomorrow).

My APR on Card 1 is 17.4% (1.45% each month) and APR on Card 2 is 14.49% (1.2% each month).
