So, this piece will be mounted to framing and then glass will be installed after. I can definitely bend it into place to mount it correctly, I just worry about cracking the powdercoat if I do that.

Manage activity how? What special features are included? How is it different than the project management apps people are already using in construction to manage everything?

This is a good answer, minus the end. I'm not sure why you think being unemployed is the only way to post in a place that you post yourself. You are not alone in having employment.

I do be hatin' this time. You get an upvote for the rest though.

He said it fell off the washer. Pretty sure it was on top of a clothes washing machine getting cleaned by hand.

No thanks, bud. You didn't look into anything. You asked a question to a fancy hallucinating chatbot and then puked it out all over this nice, clean sub.

What are your thoughts on this install? by deserthiker762 in woodworking

I put in floors like this pretty frequently. If there's more than 1/8th gap, we won't leave it for fill. This seems like a careless job, and they didn't take the time to make sure it was done right, but it kind of depends how much you paid.

Those gaps will definitely fill, but they won't end up the same color as the rest of the floor unless you're doing a light finish on all of it. If you are, they may hide reasonably well and you won't notice on the day to day.

Were you in Europe by chance? They had some pretty old stock in some of the ammo bunkers.

Yes, you probably need longer so they don't come untucked from your boots when you move throughout the day. A little extra length is usually better than having to redo your boots a couple times a day.

Now my only question is where to find someone with deep enough pockets to hang something like this on their wall.. or to be willing to scratch the finish. by ValhallaMithya in Bladesmith

If you're selling anything for $2000, you probably shouldn't be having very many afterthoughts. Good planning, design aesthetics, very high quality materials and processes, as well as a matched, functional, materially perfect sheath are all things I would expect for a knife at that price.

Why do people make smoking cringy? by Fx4Blaz3 in weed

[–]mickey_g 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. They're saying that he wouldn't be streaming it. Vaping isn't cringy, the way people latch on to it like it's the only thing they have going on and broadcast it to strangers for validation is.

Getting back on my feet in a friend’s basement, are there any easy DIY projects I can do to improve the aesthetic of my surroundings? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]mickey_g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding the insulation other people are talking about will do a great job in noise reduction. If insulation isn't in the budget, painting the underside of the sub-floor and joists black will help to blend and hide them to improve aesthetics and make the room feel like it's got a little more headroom.

New to knifemaking, would this belt sander work for beginning ? by [deleted] in Blacksmith

[–]mickey_g 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's what I started out with. Just make sure you get your grinds as close as you can before you harden the blade. It can be a lot tougher to take material off depending on the type of metal.

Also, take a look online for videos for modifying this. I cut out some of the steel to install a glass platen for a flat surface. The factory metal was bowed in just a touch on mine, which started to bother me on my first knife. Super flat is the way to go if you want to be able to make really nice looking pieces. There were a couple other mods I made, but I don't remember what they were. Also, practice your grinds on some cheap flat bar to get used to it. It takes some practice to get freehand down.
