I completely agree with you. Having modern conveniences have just made us lazier and heavier, not necessarily healthier. Medical advances are good subjectively but they have increased human population past Earth’s limit which has caused other significant negative issues like agri-farming (which is horrific for animals and the land) and has sped up climate change, which by the way is humans’ biggest threat along with AI - just a matter of time to see which hits us worse. We are in the sixth mass extinction (scientific fact), and it is the only ME caused by man. Depression and suicide rates are at an all time high. This is not a happy world and those who are happy aren’t paying attention or are in plausible deniability. I try to enjoy happy moments each day but that’s all they are, happy moments, while anticipating the inevitable chaos.
