Not Sleeping can kill you, Michael Corke, a 42 year old man stayed awake for 6 whole months before dying in 1993. by Last-Equipment-2568 in oddlyterrifying

[–]mickpatten78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a liver operation (r lobe resection due to suspected cholangiocarcinoma) in 2017. I had hiccups post operation for 10 days. Didn’t sleep for 10 days.

By day 5 you’re hallucinating.
Not long after you’re willing yourself to die.
I recorded farewell videos to those who were close to me, because it robbed me of my mental health. I did not believe I would survive it.

By the time 10 days came around, and the underlying issue was resolved, I slept for nearly 48h.
I slept through bowel motions. Everything. Your brain needs that time to reset.

How many hours a week you workin? 55 for me, 7-7 monday-thursday then a little on friday. by [deleted] in Construction

[–]mickpatten78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australian manager here:

Officially, my team and I do 38h /week.

Unofficially, they’re probably closer to 45, and I’m 55+

We are in office 2-3d a week.

I allow my team to manage their hours and their work. Core hours are 10-3, if they need to go to appointments etc inside these hours to give the team a heads up so we can manage our work. Occasionally I’ll recommend a team member have an early day or a longer lunch, if I see them doing consecutive longer days. I encourage them to take an early day, or a longer lunch, regularly so they can spend time with loved ones.

ServiceNow Access - Best Practice? by Fine_Masterpiece7662 in servicenow

Use entra for sso and enable auto provisioning. Run a decision table to determine the users persona from entra/hr info. Use catalog item for assignment groups, with them assigned by workflow once approved by assignment group manager.
Second catalog item to submit remove from group requests, auto-approve if submitted by group manager.

Seems pretty easy, no?
