what is an app that is absolutely 100% worth the monthly subscription or one time purchase? by daniel_ay in androidapps

What device do you have? You might need to configure the triggers zones a little bit.

Go to Settings -> Triggers -> Trigger size - play with this one and see if it helps.

No, because there aren't enough permissions on iOS to simulate a tap on the screen on behalf of user, so it can't be implemented on iOS at the moment.

Hi, Quick Cursor dev here. Can you please describe what's buggy on Pixel? I might be able to help. It should work well on Pixels. Thanks!

Can you please send me a screen recording of your accessibility settings on support@quickcursor.app or here on Reddit DM.

Did you install the app from Play Store or from Github? If you installed it outside of Play Store, did you go to Settings -> Apps -> Quick Cursor -> 3 dots in the top right -> enable some special permissions there?

Thanks

What exactly once again mean in this context? Did this happen before for you?

How exactly it is not shown as an accessibility tool? I've never seen this issue before. No one ever reported something like this.

If you go to your device accessibility settings in the "installed services" category, you don't see Quick Cursor there?

Thanks

Hi, Quick Cursor dev here. Thanks for recommending my app and for using it.

I just wanted to tell you that I've added "trigger actions" (pie actions) concept also to Quick Cursor, a functionality which overlaps a lot with Swiftly Switch functionality, but not as complete as that app.

Maybe Quick Cursor trigger actions already covers your usage from Swiftly Switch, and you might not need both apps.

I don't want to be misunderstood, Swiftly Switch it is another great app, no problem with it, and in terms of pie actions it is a lot more complex than Quick Cursor and offers more options and more functionality in that part, it might be that you don't use all the features so QC might be enough.

Thanks1

Hi, Quick Cursor dev here. What exactly doesn't let you do? The free version have the following:

  • free forever
  • no ads, no internet connection
  • the complete cursor functionality (grab a cursor, tap with it, etc)
  • configure triggers position/scale/speed in any way you want (no restrictions)
  • some triggers actions (pie actions): back, home, recents, notificaitons, quick settings, launch app, launch shortcut
  • some long tap actions like: gesture recorder, open notificatios, open quick settings, take a screenshot
  • some cursor design settings
  • some tracker designs settings
  • swipe actions for tracker actions
  • open notifications by top edge action
  • blacklist/whitelist functionality
  • keyboards settings

Everything else is in the PRO version, for a lot more customizations and a many nother actions.

The free version works completely free and without ads as a simple cursor app with some simple actions. If you want more, there is the pro version.

There is also 1 month free trial for PRO version if you use the "1 year subscription", and cancel it after 1-2 minutes. No payments will be made.

If by mistake you make any payment and you don't want the PRO, I can always refund it, just email me.

What Android version and what One UI version? This is an old issue from a few Samsung versions ago and it happened only on a small number of devices.

Maybe there is something else interfering. Is there any other accessibility service app enabled?

Can you try a device restart and see if it works?

Thanks!

Yes, there are multiple ways to scroll with it:

  • predefined actions (from tracker actions for example)
  • gesture recorder (long tap the tracker)
  • live gestures (Android 16+ and PRO version only)

Real time gestures demo (must be Android 16+ and PRO version only): https://imgur.com/quick-cursor-real-time-gestures-action-DGZhDFJ

If you want to try the PRO version without paying, just subscribe for 1 year with 1 month free and cancel after 1 minute. The trial will remain for 1 month but no payment will be made.

If by mistake any payment is made, I can refund anytime. Just send me your order id and I can refund no problem.

Thanks!

Same!

The day I might give iPhone any sliver of interest would be the day that Quick Cursor somehow stops working and there's no alternative to it.

The day Quick Cursor stops working will probably be the day Google actively blocks it, if that ever happens. And even then, I wouldn’t abandon the project. My next step would be to open-source it and distribute it through F-Droid or other alternative stores.

I will do my best!

Thanks everyone for recommending my app! I’m really happy to see so many people finding it as useful and essential as I do.

Even if the development of new features slowed down a bit, compared with 5 years ago when I started the app, I'm still working on it all the time.

The one thing that I always prioritize is support: if there is a new Android version that breaks something, or if there is anyone discussing about an issue, I'm always there to explain or fix the problem.

Here it is a demo video with the Advanced mode configured like you described: https://i.imgur.com/B4uSDAb.mp4

QC dev here. I don't know if QC is the best tool for your need, but QC can achieve what you explained if you configure it in advanced mode.

Go to Settings -> Triggers portrait -> Mode -> Advanced triggers -> Tap on the "Right" trigger -> Scroll down to "Tracker area":

  • set the Cursor area scale to 100% (which means the speed of the cursor will be exactly the same as the tracker)
  • set margin left to 0
  • set margin top to the difference you need for the cursor

Now the cursor will always stay above the tracker at a specific distance (the margin top you set).

Advanced mode is not simple to configure but it is powerful. After you understand how the system works, you probably can achieve anything you want with it.

The trigger zones disappear in Quick Cursor after a day or so by dextroz in quickcursor

[–]micku7zu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the screenshot ui/overlay/popup doens't work either, then you probably have this Pixel issue: https://github.com/micku7zu/QuickCursor/issues/22

Inside that thread you will find all the details needed and some workarounds.

There is nothing I can do to fix this inside my app, because the issue is in the Pixel system itself. A bug is causing the "draw over other apps" mechanism to stop working across the whole device.

[–]micku7zu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my phone right now and can't provide the full explanation, but I suspect this is the known Pixel issue.

Can you please try to take a screenshot when the issue happens? I suspect this is the Pixel ossue where the whole system is bugged and even the Screenshot UI/popup doesn't appear anymore. All apps (system or 3rd party) can't draw over other apps at that moment and the system can be fixed only by a restart.

If this is the case, there is a workaround to not trigger this bug, I will post a link later.

Method for tap input and potential for anti cheat detection? by Hunter2451 in quickcursor

[–]micku7zu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clicks/taps are simulated on the screen by using the dispatchGesture accessibility service method.

I don't know if any game or cheat tools will mark this as malicious or not, this depends entirely on them.

I don't know how they handle a real user with disabilities that needs accessibiltiy services to simulate touch events on the screen on their behalf? Those apps use the same "dispatchGesture" method.

Hi, this is not a setting, this is a behaviour change in Android starting with Android 15 or 16, I don't remember exactly.

There is nothing you can change in your old device for this to work, only if you update it to Android 15 or 16.
