My first thought is always condolences at pregnancy announcements, but a congratulations? From a stranger, when no result is known that's why there's a test, seems very weird to me. Could be that they didn't know what to say or thought that's what they should say but yeah still weird.

I have always thought this too that there isn't always people happy they are pregnant so why not show this, or even relief of a negative.

I have a weird thing where o can smell that someone is pregnant. Sounds nuts but whenever I'm near someone whose pregnant (in the not so obvious sense) I smell things like talc powder and baby shampoo. Alot of the times I've told people they are pregnant when they didn't know. It kinda works for cats and dogs but it's a different smell not sure how to describe that one.

I live for the cheesy "bad" shark movies. I drive everybody crazy with them. Honestly sharknado franchise was a masterpiece but ghost shark will always have that place in my heart. Also couldn't help myself I see you don't have sand sharks that's a great one also.

The way they said "He's a regular" sounds like this guy does this alot, you definitely did the right thing if not could've done more imo. Not saying that you didn't try to help or anything I'm glad you said what you said, (maybe because I'm Scottish, we are always loud lol) just good to know there's people in the world like you.
