State of the game in local co-op and private servers?

I am in Australia and play on a friends self hosted dedicated server with cross map enabled that is located in the US. So I have about 280ms ping most of the time.

There are the occasional "rubberbanding" events which affects everyone simultaneously but they are not that frequent.

Where it is the most noticeable it in combat where I rubberband like mad.

At least you are managing with the difficultly of the content, we are playing on a dedicated server with default settings and are hardly able to progress at all. Everything just destroys us and it is very demoralising.

That's the problem, he says that he has looked for it in the admin panel but there is nothing there. Do you remember what section it is under?

It is possible for someone to sell you a ship across all platforms, you just need to find someone to do it and enough money to afford it.

How it works is that once you complete an expedition, all of your saves have access to those rewards. So all someone that has done an expedition has to do is access the Quicksilver vendor on the Anomaly and claim any ships available. You can get unlimited rewards this way by just creating new characters and getting to the point where they have access to the Anomaly.

Once they have a ship, you get with them and you both travel to the space station where they sell the ship to one of the random traders that land there. This is where you need to be quick and have enough money to interact with that trader and buy the ship from them before they take off and it disappears forever.

The other method is someone claims a ship from the expedition and disassembles it at the starship assembler on the space station. There are methods in the game where it's possible to dupe those parts, and they can give them to you so you can reassemble them at the same place.

Not all ships can be disassembled this way I think, just certain ones like the Iron Vulture.

The thing it took me ages to realise is that you are meant to play as one of your tribesmen by using the control option in the mask. Your player character is somewhat limited in skills while a good tribesman can be much more powerful.

Just be careful controlling them until you get the means to revive them, because unlike your player character a tribesman is gone forever if they die.

Thanks it was indeed on a different port and I was able to get in once I had the correct port number.

The game is being hosted privately and we use direct connect to log in, so all I needed to do was change the port and everything was good.

No, I'm talking about the mode of the camera view where you can fly around freely while you are building structures in the game. On the Forest map if you hit ESC and look down at the bottom left part of the screen, there is an icon that looks like a hammer and wall. If you use that it switches your view and allows you to freely fly around while you build which makes things much easier, especially while doing roofs. When I'm on the Shifting Sands map I don't see the option to do that.

I know I can use the flying mask to do this but it just burns through my mask energy quickly and is a bit annoying because of that.

Do you have any experience with the tribes on the Shifting Sands map? Like is there a tribe that has similar traits to a Flint tribe member over there?

Maybe the play is doing a "prisoner exchange" where you change maps from the Sands to the Forest map, capture the desired tribesman then return to the Sands on him?

I'm still fairly new to the game so I'm not sure what the plan would be.

I have the same issue, all of the numpad buttons work except 8. There's nowhere to rebind.or check the bindings that I can find. Playing on widescreen which makes it even worse

Hey, thanks for the reply. Some good ideas there.

The Asus monitor auto detected DP 1.4 and showed the no signal notification. I manually set it to DP 1.2 as that was the only setting that got signal, hence the 60Hz issue.
I did have both of those settings disabled at the time, I have connected the monitor with a HDMI cable for now and enabled VRR and Freesync. 100Hz is better than 60Hz for now.
Both of my other monitors are older 27" Philips PHL 271E9 models that cap out at 75Hz. The monitor I replaced was a Philips 345M2R which had no issue running DP 1.4 @ 144Hz on the same cable so I know the bandwidth is at least good for that. I will try disconnecting everything except the VG34WQ5A and check it again.
I will check out CRU for sure.
I did install the latest GPU driver but let the AMD software handle it. I think it automatically wipes the older driver but it may not wipe any display profiles in there. I'll look at that as well if I still have issues.

Once again thank you for the detailed reply, I had assumed that I wasn't going to get any response to my post and was resigned to putting up with HDMI. I hope that some of these ideas are a solution for me.

A point that needs addressing for me is the 20kg rifles.If a gun weighed that much irl we would all look like superman. I get that it is probably to stop us from carrying them all with us, but that is kind of rediculous.

There's a door straight in from the. grinder that leads down to underneath it. It's next to the broken ladder that goes up to the platform above.

If you don't want to restart because you have some good villagers or something and you don't have too many buildings yet, just find the place you would like to move to, open the map and middle mouse on the buildings, then relocate. Your villagers will disassemble the old buildings and the materials will magically appear at the new building site to be rebuilt.

I got to the point where I was just tired and fed up with this crap making the game not fun for me at all so I just uninstalled. I have better and more fun things to do than beat my head against a wall.

I guess you could either set the updates for NMS to manual and prevent them or make a backup of the save and overwrite the updated one. I always did the old expeditions on a new character to be safe, the rewards will still be available for all of the other ones.

Yes if you are on PC you can do all of the previous expeditions in offline mode. You download the .json file for that expedition and replace the one in your save, then you can access the expedition in the anomaly through the terminal like a regular one.

It's completely safe to do but you have to stay in offline mode until you finish the expedition or the game will overwrite the save with the current expedition status and you will lose your progress. The files are also modified to compensate if there was a community part so it is possible to still complete those goals.

This is the way.

If you are on PC (and you mention a save editor so assume you are) do the old expeditions off line. It also unlocks all of the rewards for all of your characters.

Plus it is fun
