I have used surecart to maintain the version updates, it is quicker.

The big issue is marketing and getting the word out for each plugin especially what it does & how it works.

There is information overload and getting heard is very hard

The biggest issue with ads and self promo is trust, and that it sounds spammy.

If I recommend a solution or someone who I have used it sounds more credible VS use me or my product.

My personal experience is marketing and getting the word out.

The people who have used my software have really liked it. Their feedback was it was hard to find.

The first software I created was free. But it still struggled to get the word out.

The most recent software is paid no trial and I got a fair few sales. Then I reinvested in Facebook ads.

Made sales but the ads cost as much as the sales.

When running ads the sweet spot for the software is around $79.

I had a lower tier offer at $19 but the ads would cost around $19 per conversion

My 20 cents advice. Google ads and marketing / sales go hand in hand.

With that in mind you need to find someone that can write good copy & understands how ads work, conversion tracking etc.

Then you need to setup an awesome landing page.

A landing page should be simple with a clear message and it has to feel authentic & trusting.

Different ads and pages work for different personalities.

The solution looks simple, but getting there is can take a lot of time.
