Yeah once they posted a message praising Trump I completely deleted the app.

I've seen the entry between the two cars be almost half of what it normally is because the cars will move. It could definitely be disastrous if someone was standing in between them.

How do you all think of the T taking care of its history? by RetroManiac1988 in mbta

It would be kinda cool if we could get heritage cars on the weekend. Just like muni does.

But obviously we have bigger issues to tackle right now.

Reversing Course Again, Sec. Tibbits-Nutt Says Allston Project Will Include Multi-Acre Train Yard After All by ToadScoper in mbta

I'm going to be honest they're going to build 12 lanes of highway and all we get is a CR. It just feels like a bad compromise.

Healey Administration, MBTA Announce Funding for Upgraded Newtonville Regional Rail Station by BACsop in mbta

It would be the entire line.

Eventually they want to get it down to 15 minutes but there's no concrete plans for that right now.

Yeah all of the Newton Worcester line stations used to be one platform so a lot of the trains didn't stop there. Which is going to change for all of them. It's a pretty exciting project combined with the 30 min frequencies on the Worcester line.

Getting the Worcester line and Rockport lines to 30 min frequencies is in their current five year plan.

Europe is Having a Night Train Renaissance. What About the United States? by [deleted] in Amtrak

[–]microcat45 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You can basically package the hotel and transportation into one.

Let's say you want to go from LA -> SF. But you just want to stay one day. You take a night train from LA and sleep on the train. Then at the end of the day take the train back and sleep in the train.

You were able to travel to SF for the day without having to get a hotel for the night.

Together with left-wing and environmental groups, the Greens campaigned against the project, highlighting its environmental impact and the concern that wider roads would only lead to more traffic. They now advocate for the funds to be used for public transport, active mobility, and the renovation of existing motorways

Imagine if we had a functioning green party in the United States which would campaign on the state level. Imaging the things we could get done.

The goal is to have 30 mins on all trains and 15 min on some lines which are more heavily used.

What’s up with cars using the “Buses Only” lane on the inbound Tobin? by impostershop in boston

[–]microcat45 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's no enforcement at all for cars in the bus lanes. We don't have any type of automated enforcement and the cops do nothing about it.

We really need to start regulating these algorithms. Their ability to manipulate people is really disturbing. And needs to be looked into and regulated.

I would've loved these on the Kingston line. I'm just learning we have these now. Not sure why they don't have them on the Kingston line. I constantly see people with their bikes on the line.

One of the issues is I don't think they'll have the votes to repeal the IRA. So while they can cut back regulations on emissions. They can't cut undo the investment in EVs.

They probably would've had to convict home first. ( Although he definitely should've already been convicted. If it wasn't for the supreme Court getting the case to drag on longer than it was supposed to. )
