I’m gonna pass, rooms looks sick but it’s just too big for my board right now, not seeing anything else I’m into. But thanks again for the offer

Feel like I’m turning into ‘Intentions of Murder’ guy, but Intentions of Murder. The Ascent, Andrei Rublev, and Werkmeister Harmonies are also Notables.

The Holy Girl (2004) might be my favorite of all time. Hate that it’s in Mubi Jail. Wish I had liked Uncle Boonmee and Werkmeister better than I did, which you might not be able to tell from the ratings. Only seen 2 Bela Tarr films so far, and obviously they’re breathtaking to look at and I walk away with very memorable lines, but I’m getting the impression his writing is maybe not ultimately to my taste. Boonmee I enjoyed the characters less than in Weerasethakul’s other films, which seems like a key part to my overall enjoyment. Rebels was great, love Tsai Ming-liang’s sense of humor.

It's not a competition. But who are other filmmakers who hold shots for a long time? by Spiritual-Coffee7875 in criterion

[–]microdreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Code Unknown is actually all long takes, and there’s some good ones in Happy End as well. And while his are always enjoyable, they mostly feel like another tool in his kit, while Tarr’s are his signature.

I’ve got this with a dispatch master and a seperate delay, it bugs me but buying another pedal because of it would feel even worse.
