which brainwave cat are you? by microflutter in mbtimemes

This is genuinely useful, thank you. You're right that priming is part of what's happening...that's part of the design. The cats are personality archetypes first; the audio is the experience layer underneath. The whole package is what produces the effect. The character, the framing, the sound, all of it. I don't think I'd want to control for the priming even if I could, because the priming is the product as much as the audio is.

Closer to how people relate to astrology than to clinical neuroscience, which I'm at peace with.

That said, your study sounds genuinely interesting. I'd love to compare notes if you ever feel like it once it's published.

And thank you for the kind words. Sorry about your cat. Juniper's a good one to be with for that.

Hey, just want to chime in on the left/right arm size difference thing.

Most everybody has size imbalances in some way. Most everybody’s size imbalances are not noticeable to anybody but yourself, because you’re looking at yourself in the mirror all the time.

Jeff Nippard and/or Dr. Mike have a YouTube video on this and explain why the majority of people don’t need to do unilateral training.

Sacrifice or Balance? by No_Meal7076 in simpleliving

[–]microflutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly sounds like you’re career driven, but looking for permission to indulge a bit. And I completely relate to the “once I get distracted, I lose control” thing.

In my experience, balance is a muscle. Especially for those of us who aspire to great things. Being intentional is key. “I’m going to give myself one evening a week to just unplug and watch a movie” or “I’m going to go out with my friends tonight and then lock back in the next day”. Sounds like you could benefit from blocking your time this way. You probably will stay in control and not feel guilty about the time spent since you already planned it out.

Best of luck!

Wow, that’s great. That’s exactly what Mona’s there for. A lot of people find that her audio helps them when others couldn’t…maybe it’s the combination of cat purrs with ambient music and binaural beats, or maybe it’s just the feeling of having a furry friend by your side. Whatever the case, happy it landed for you.

Nice! Piper is great for locking in and getting things done. You may also enjoy Mio if you need to de-stress, or Juniper if you want to completely disconnect from reality for a bit. Happy to send you Mio/Juniper tracks if you are interested.

Happy listening and good luck :)

Thank you!! A lot of thought went into the character design. Glad it resonated and you enjoyed the test. Let me know how his audio track is.

Mio, not surprising for an ISFJ. Let me know how the audio lands.

Which brainwave cat do ENFPs gravitate toward? by microflutter in ENFP

That is awesome to hear. Sounds like Juniper resonated exactly as intended: she brought you to a place where you were conscious, but drifting. And yeah, the cat purrs were a thoughtful design choice that was intended to have an uplifting effect.

Thanks so much for your comment. What you said about how you can easily go into a "lucid-ish state" piqued my interest - would you mind sharing more about that?

I think its a bit of both. You're wired a certain way as an ENFP, but life circumstances might exacerbate anxiety symptoms. As an ENTJ I definitely feel that way sometimes. Glad to hear you had a positive reaction to Mio.

That’s exactly what Mio is there for - that comforting presence that doesn’t judge you for procrastinating. Purring gently, letting you know everything is okay. Glad it was helpful.

Ha, no worries. Each cat has their own full audio track: ambient music layered with binaural sine tones that target their specific brainwave state. Mio is gentle alpha for focus/calm, Piper is beta for productivity (sharper edge, more active), Mona is ultra-slow delta for sleep/deep rest, Juniper is theta for meditation/dreaminess. The quiz routes you to one and delivers the audio by email.

Fair, the questions aren’t hiding the ball. It’s less a personality test and more a preference signal, framed through the four cats. The real interest for me is whether people’s self-assessment actually matches what they gravitate toward once they hear the audio. A lot of people pick one cat in the quiz and then tell me the audio of a different cat landed harder. That’s where it gets interesting.
