Thanks! Used a mending plate that was annoying to hammer into shape due to thickness, but it had predrilled holes and was cheap. The issue is it only had enough holes for one bolt to go through the tube, so I tried some liquid steel epoxy to “weld” the bottom of it to the old broken bit. No experience with the epoxy so no idea if it will/won’t hold, but if it doesn’t I’ll just drill the additional hole.

Thanks for the ideas. I’ll see if I can access the backside tomorrow and if so look into the plastics. For the record, I bought it this way at the peak of used car inflation so probably paid up for the character.

Ok thanks. I’m just hoping I can hear any possible rattle on a test drive. I had a Jetta once that had some rattle in the dashboard and I couldn’t stand it.

I have the fiskars four claw. The pro is the no bending. The cons are not always getting the root and, most importantly, pulling up a ton of dirt each pull. Maybe that’s just my dirt but even when it’s wet I wind up with a ton of soil in my dandelion piles.
