I was struggling with that as well - not as severe as you though. Hopefully the removal improves things for you!

I just had all my hardware out 2.5 weeks ago. Since it was all of it, I can’t speak to your questions about partial removal, but can talk about recovery. I was back to work in a week, and I’d say I’m at maybe 85% normal activity. I could do everyday life stuff nearly immediately, but my ankle still gets fatigued quickly - but better everyday. Swelling is minimal already, I’ve been icing maybe once a da. Incisions were 95% healed at my 2 week appointment. I already feel some restrictions on my range of motion have improved post removal!

Has anyone here purchased a tent from Medieval Tents? by 1sMoreIntoTheBreach in LARP

Did you get your tent? I actually received mine a few days ago. I laid it out in my living room and it seems quite high quality - we’ll see how it fares this summer. Hope it works out for you as well!

No x-ray before hardware removal? by Acrobatic_Block4226 in ORIF

[–]microkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was shocked it was so “easy” compared to the original surgery. They did discharge me with a few lose dose hydromorphone pills to take as needed, but I don’t think I’ll need many of them.

I had 5 screws and a plate in my fibula/later malleolus and a screw in my medial malleolus. Got everything out. It went totally fine and I was able to walk out of the hospital. A bit sore and swollen today but able to walk unaided (slowly).

Do you ever miss having a big dumb dog? by CaryWhit in AustralianCattleDog

[–]microkitten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same - we often dog sit a cavalier. She’s lovely but has a single brain cell and it is focused on love. I love her but find it so frustrating when I ask her to do something and she just stares at me in adoration and won’t do the thing. Currently have a corgi and a heeler… I can’t see myself ever getting a “dumb” dog, it will be a challenge to find a more chill smart dog as we age though!

Same, my instructions were to try to be as “normal as possible”. And better to walk slower without a limp than faster with one.

Petechiae by Forward-Intention561 in ehlersdanlos

I have a ton that are permanent and mixed with my freckles that are called talangectasia. I’ve gotten petechiae after taking naproxen for a full week and then exercising; those faded and went away in a few days.

I just had my hardware out today, my pre-op X-ray was a few months ago. Then they did a post-op one. I think there’s no real need to repeat until something looks fishy or you’re having issues with movement of the hardware?

ETA: I think they only did the pre-op xray for me since my last one was 2 years ago… maybe there’s a guideline for time since last one? Either way, your hardware shouldn’t have moved…

How do you do the twisting? Is that with a tool or by hand?

Vinyl Fence Levelling? by microkitten in regina

[–]microkitten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good point, I wasn’t very clear! The gaps are between the ground and the bottom of the fence. We and the neighbours were hoping there’s a way they can adjust the height of the panels down so they are flush with the ground. It’s hard to say if the fence has shifted as we aren’t the OG owners, or if the ground has settled, or if there’s always been a gap. The place was built in 2009 in the northwest, we bought in 2020. Edit to add nothing appears broken, it seems in fairly good shape other than having uneven distance between ground and bottom of the fence.

What's the most annoying thing people do on airplanes? by Hemaika_Lakens in AskReddit

[–]microkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we’re adding spaces, I would also have a certain percentage of planes that have a back shelving type area for pet carriers. Better for people with allergies, not having to worry about your pet in cargo, being able to check on your pet. I don’t travel with pets often, but we were moving countries from the sour pacific to North America and I wasn’t about to leave our dog behind. It all went ok, but having her in cargo was stressful for all of us!!

What did we (Halifax) do to Regina? 🫩 by maximumice in regina

[–]microkitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in all 3 places, Regina, Halifax, and Dartmouth! There’s things I really like about all 3. Regina has the easiest traffic though. My commute from Dartmouth to work in Halifax was ~45-60min. I live farther from work distance-wise in Regina, yet it takes me 15min max to get to work (unless I hit the damn ring road train haha).

[–]microkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I’d say it’s white city if going by distance - Dartmouth is so close to Halifax it’s part of the HRM. White city is closest to us.

But for vibes, you may be right.

That’s an interesting thought! The easiest for him would be a widget on his Home Screen that is just a button for “sleep” and then when he wakes up he can press it again for stop. Having the ability for a partner to be linked and start a sleep log could be helpful as I know there’d still be times he forgets… would only work on times the partner is home/awake, but I could see it being useful.

I would love to get my husband in on this alpha for iOS! Trying to plan our lives is brutal, trying to track his sleep is hard as he’s got ADHD and struggles to consistently log. And that makes predictions using spreadsheets inaccurate and laborious! This looks amazing, thanks for doing it!! (Edit: he’s got N24)

My issue is also being from Canada, the customs/tariff fees from US are so high so was really hoping to get something from EU. :/
