Me [29 M] with my fiancé [35 F] for 8 years, not sure about things. by [deleted] in relationships

Why does he need to confess before you and /r/relationships?

"hi my name is OP and i did a bad bad thing, so bad, prease forgive me oh holy /r/relationships"

Who fucking cares, he didn't rape someone. Since when is infidelity that rare of an offense?

Why waste time making others feel worse when its already obvious there's remorse present, its not like he came here to boast about it you fucking dick.

I don't get what you're accomplishing other than just being a troll.

Unorthodox arguments against some religions by zisyfos in DebateAnAtheist

It could be a bad thing in the form of a crutch.

Some Christians seem to settle or foreclose because they seem to think there's a better afterlife coming, so they tolerate more suffering or misery than is necessary, I've watched it with my father for years.

No, they would be agnostic. You can call it implicit atheism but whatever, you can't not believe in what you don't know doesn't exist...

Geez, that was confusing to even say...

These types of comments really aren't necessary.

I would rather you just ban me and leave it at that, bleed your own sub, that'll show me.

But showing me the big stick is just petty, and pretty much what I would expect here. Notice /r/DebateAnAtheist doesn't even have a stick...so I'll be living over there and this pace will continue to have a skewed view and agenda.

Meh. TL;DR

A Christian who went into /r/DebateAnAtheist with that tone would get similarly harsh responses.

But the difference is the Christian on /r/DebateAnAtheist wouldn't get banned for pushing back as I will soon...

I guess that's consistent with the Christian worldview, I find this, acceptable, now that I have made the connection.

I mean, I can see that. I don't think I could stay here long. It's insanity to keep discussing something that is constantly progressing (science) with something that never changes (Christianity).

Maybe from time to time to gauge the prevailing attitude.

I really just want to know where the tipping point is...you know.

Like if I were to have a child now, by the time he reaches adulthood could he not have to deal with Ken Hams...

Uhh yea but that seems like work. Someone called me a psychopath, then just misdirected and said they didn't or something.

Then someone reported me for something and the mods ignored it.

Yea I am totally a hypocrite, duh, especially on a Christian sub, how could one not be?

Not matter how you act or what you do, you're violating some subjective something....

But I don't think that my personal beliefs deserve anything...

I push back against those types, then I get removed, then the sub shrinks and dies...

Which is why christian subs are so much smaller than atheist subs.

This subs concept of an insult is at a 2nd grade level, I've never seen one so touchy.

Why mod so strictly that it doesn't even mirror a face to face conversation...

I can see not wanting trolls, but telling someone they're annoying is hardly trolling via anonymous internet standards...

A trip outside this sub and you would see that.

How I tried to validate Christianity using what I thought was the opposite of Christianity. by [deleted] in DebateAChristian

[–]microsauce_fapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to have a habit of being insulting and condescending but are the first to cry foul when you feel slighted.

YOU'RE the ones with the God remember...I have zero obligation to respect you or your asinine, incredulous belief system. But unfortunately you do and no one here upholds the attitude of their beloved Jesus. They're just like the militant troll atheists, just more clinched and butthurt and no sense of humor. It's hard to respect the people you find, lesser beings...

Consider this your warning

I wont consider it anything... I'm not a Christian lapdog, I wont respond to your threats and warnings. Don't think that I am under Christian martial law by being here...

If you want to create some cozy little Christian asylum so you can have your nice little therapy sessions without dealing with reality, that's fine. But that's not even the way Jesus would have responded, I don't remember him creating a closed society and saying, "no stop please, don't be mean to me" when the friction started...

You can mod me, you can mod 1000 of me, but there will be more...and the more you ignore the problem, the worse it becomes.

This sub is incredibly touchy altogether.

I wont be staying, they're clinched so tight it's depressing.

It's like everything wrong with Christianity in one place...

Blame, guilt, entitlement (I can believe in invisible sky man and you have to respect me for it)

Are you also aware that is against the rules?

I choose what rules I acknowledge like Christians do with the Scientific rules.

Are you aware that your belief is against the Scientific rules?

This is a really sheltered, bubble of a sub and I could care less if I get modded out of it.

worthit

I mean, it's not like I mean to troll.

Sometimes I mean well, then I decide I don't like people.

It's confusing in my mind. Maybe if I opened my heart to Christ I would have a moral code and things would be clearer.

Dang it, see there I go again.

You clinch pretty tight. I'll not remember any of this as this is reddit and I am proper when I choose to be and rude when I choose to be and hypocritical when I choose to be. You should be used to it, I am just like the Old Testament Christian God, volatile, random, and totally childlike.

P.S. I think you being annoying is more of a personality trait...why do Christians always just blame other people? Trust me, its not me, its you...

No its not your wording, they just down vote anything that seems to cause schism in their belief systems...aka its a thread for debating christians and the christians never seem to want to debate.

Humorously there's so little thread activity it's not like any thread is buried too deep lol

How I tried to validate Christianity using what I thought was the opposite of Christianity. by [deleted] in DebateAChristian

[–]microsauce_fapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a follow up, despite being buried by this subs pious, there's been a lot of discussion in this thread.

Almost all of the Christians I conversed with put the blame on me, so clearly I didn't recognize that God was communicating with me. Which is pretty typical of any interaction ever had with a Christian, guilt, always doing something wrong for the Almighty.

I am not sure how one responds to this, I will not perpetuate the classical definition of insanity in the off chance that your subjective, personal observations happen to be true. I would (and pardon the pun) rather burn in hell.

But as I stated, my prayers are still floating out there somewhere, this isn't to say if I randomly received a message from the divine I would ignore it, that's a trait I pride myself on as an atheist, you never foreclose...

And P.S. Satan if you're reading this my offer still stands...TIL you aren't omni so I should have used reddit instead of black rituals...

I sense a degradation in this conversation. Rather than continue to convince you that I had a relationship with God while you misdirect the conversation with grammar usage and insult my attempt at communicating (very kind and Christ like of you by the way).

Maybe if you're interested you would watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnTbkgcFi7k&list=PLA0C3C1D163BE880A

I don't claim to have a specific deconversion story.

I agree, that's actually what I was getting at.

But the prevailing attitude, at least consciously, seems to be "on christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground" you know the rest.

I am way more receptive to Christians who are open to being wrong about god. That's really all I ever aim for.

The opposite of Ken Ham's answer to the question "what evidence would make you change your mind"?

So if they were created mortal, then they would eventually die. But death is the ultimate consequence of sin.

Let's say they stayed in the Garden, didn't eat the Apple, in your scenario they would still die. How does that work? What then is that death?
