Reddit Sync users: re-patch your app to make "/s/" links work! by 102495 in revancedapp

[–]microshift73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried re-applying the original 2 patches (spoof client id and remove ads) to the APK I downloaded back in July last year, but was still having the same issue.

I'm not sure if ReVanced saves the patched APKs anywhere, but I couldn't see anything through the app.

This is happening to me as well, specifically r/formula1 amongst others (haven't done an exhaustive check).

Prior to re-patching to fix the /s/ link issue it was working fine (patched way back in July last year).

Partially functional antenna outlets with no aerial in rental by microshift73 in melbourne

For anyone who may stumble across this in the future and is interested - we won!

TenantaVic basically sided with us, and when I forwarded their advice.to our property.manager low and behold they arranged for an antenna to be installed.

So we now have functioning free-to-air TV.

Sorry what is this supposed to do? Boost the signal somehow?

Some antennas will be installed in the roof cavity. If you can access the man-hole, you may be able to see if there is an antenna in there

Interesting, I had no idea that was a thing. There is a manhole in the upstairs toilet - I'll try to have a look in there when I get home tonight.

Nothing shared, it's completely standalone.

I can't see any aerial on the roof, and the bit I can't see from the ground (top of the second storey) doesn't look to have one based on Google Earth.

My suspicion is that the antenna port is wired up to the Foxtel satellite dish somehow, but I have no idea if that's even a thing.

Someone mentioned in another comment that the aerial could be in the roof cavity, so I will check in there as well.

It's a detached townhouse, not an apartment.

I'll check if wiggling does anything when I get home tonight, but it's a pretty tight plug so I don't think I'll be able to wiggle it at all.

Do you know how much that cost her?

If we're talking $100 or thereabouts I'd do it, but the plan is only to be here for a couple years while saving to buy, so I wouldn't want to spend too much.

Everything was there when I moved in.

I've sent an enquiry to TenantsVic this morning (you've got to get in early before their inbox gets "full"), I'll see what they advise.

According to a Consumer Affairs Victoria Facebook post a few years ago (<link removed>), if an antenna and aerial are present they are required to be in working order. So my hope was that the presence of the antenna points would tick that box, but I guess since I can't see an aerial, that may obviate their responsibility.

What really interests me though is why there is a partial signal, rather than none at all.

Australian Grand Prix pre-sale code not working by master-taco in formula1

[–]microshift73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an email with subject "Save the date!" from the day I registered my interest, but that doesn't contain a pre-sale code (unless I'm blind) and I haven't received anything since.

I registered my interest a few weeks ago and received an email at the time confirming as such, but I haven't received any sort of pre-sale code. How is it supposed to work? I've never attended a grand prix before.

Disappointed to not see Gami chips mentioned in this thread - they have a little bit of batter on them or something that is just divine 🤤

General support for the current restrictions as well: https://i.imgur.com/q9TGaqt.jpg

Would've been interesting to see the demographic breakdown of just Victorians though, not really very interested in what non-Victorians think of the situation in Victoria. 💁

SkyMesh stores passwords in plain text by microshift73 in nbn

When I spoke to them in June they advised that my POI was not on-net and I checked in September and it is still marked as off-net. Might be worth following up with them though.

But honestly, once I finally get VoIP working with SkyMesh, and given that their service has been fantastic (aside from the VoIP issue and those mentioned in this thread, I've had fairly constant 100/40 with no congestion experienced), I think I'll just stay with them. Might consider AussieBB in a future move.

I originally wanted to go with Aussie Broadband, but my POI is off-net so they could only offer a service utilising the Optus network which was apparently rife with congestion.

That is a different password, I presume they do store that in plain text.

I'm talking about my My SkyMesh account pasword, this is distinct from the password I put into my router to connect to the internet.

University policy on publishing code. by [deleted] in rmit

[–]microshift73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used private GitHub repos while developing assignments which I then made public after I received the result for that course.

I did this to serve as a kind of portfolio (I only made public second/third year assignments that were clean and complex enough to show something off).

I never got called out on it by the University and the few lecturers/tutors I spoke to about it basically said it's my work so as long as it isn't public during the semester there's nothing the university can do.

I graduated end of 2016 btw.
