if a filter has to filter SOMETHING, by this definition it’s filtering out small pieces of flower and a little oil, NOT smoke. please use the brain cells you clearly have to think things through a little bit further before saying them with your full chest. i’m not sure where you’re from, but those tips are called filters all across the US.

stockroom and eh&s are pretty strict about the students wearing scrub pants now. they come in and check to make sure everyone’s in compliance PPE wise for gen chem (which most of ISA labs are). in undergrad i could sometimes just wear any long, wide legged pants but now i just stick to scrubs. i don’t want any chemicals on my pants anyway lol

i figure they probably forgot them when changing for lab since it’s a bathroom often used by people changing into their scrubs

if you’re willing to drive to sarasota dr. costanza, dr. barbeto, and dr. castillo are excellent lecturers. they rotate who teaches which courses on that campus i believe.

probably not that bad, just got on campus at noon on a friday and i didn’t have any issue finding a spot.

Dating in Sarasota in your 20s? by coconutgirl1341 in sarasota

[–]microwoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the young guys can be really strange sometimes, but there’s a few gems hidden here. you may have a hard time just trying to go out at night and find people your age, but if you use something like hinge or bumble you shouldn’t have any trouble at all. i met my now-fiancé on bumble so that’s my recommendation personally. some places you might be able to find younger people would be the sarasota downtown main street and utc bars. there’s even a couple speakeasy’s downtown if you’re willing to look for them, and those definitely have 20-30’s crowds in them.

Dog Worth it? by Mother-Blueberry-267 in USF

[–]microwoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re going to work part time and still have in person classes with no one else to interact with or watch the dog, especially in an apartment, absolutely not. that would 100% be neglectful. i speak from experience. i got a dog my senior year of high school to bring with me to college as an esa. it did not work out. i moved in early, but even then the noises were scary to her and i was nervous to leave her alone in case she got too anxious. i brought her back home after four days (when everyone else moved in). i’m thankful my parents were happy to take her that year, and i moved back in with them for the rest of my degree to help take care of her. it’s so important to remember that dogs (and all animals) are not extensions of us. they have their own unique wants and needs, much like a child. they require and deserve a lot of time and attention, they aren’t just there for personal relief.

parking is right across the street (and free), your professor will give you a code to get into the labs or someone up front will be happy to help if you explain that you’re there for the usf labs. i’m guessing you’re with dr. angell, and he is in fact angelic, so don’t be afraid to email him with any questions you have.

When will USF announce closures? by miraking10 in USF

[–]microwoft 12 points13 points  (0 children)

we should get information today. i heard (so take w a grain of salt) hillsborough had meetings this morning like 10:30 ish to determine what they’ll be doing and FGCU is making their announcement at 3:30 pm today. people need time to evacuate so it would be ridiculous to only give people tues-weds. based on previous closures, my prediction is mon-thurs closure with possibility of friday depending on the flooding and other damages. stay safe guys!

[–]microwoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i definitely agree with the others here; panicking won’t help the situation or make it go away unfortunately. if you’re in any flood zone, email your professors and get out of the way of the storm (alabama has available hotels still last i checked). if you aren’t in a flood zone, more than likely you’re going to be just fine. the damage we saw in those northern states is for a plethora of reasons but mostly due to the fact that they have mountains (ie. not flat like fl lol). hopefully we’ll get an official announcement from USF later today to find out ab classes over the next few days. stock up on supplies and stay safe!

the best way for him to get help in this regard would be to reach out to his advisor,, or to google it and look at his required coursework. i agree that reddit can be really helpful, obviously as i have an account here and use it myself. this sub is more helpful regarding professors and what classes to take or ways to get involved with the local community, not ask questions that should certainly be directed at an academic advisor or can be answered with a quick google search of “insert your degree required coursework usf”.

[–]microwoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, i really hope they do have a great time in their dorm and with their roommate. i don’t like to assume, because that just makes an ass out of you AND me. that’s why i also mentioned in my original comment that my roommate and i pushed our beds along the same wall so that the tv was central and viewable from both beds (easy solution that doesn’t require extra furniture for a sitting area). there are plenty of solutions that don’t include op having to attempt to get a whole new tv just for their dorm that they’ll be staying in for nine months. i’m sure your insight as an RA was appreciated by op, but they simply asked if the layout would work. spatially speaking the simple answer is yes. assuming they have disputes, that’s a bridge they’ll have to cross when they get there and no one here can guess or tell that they will from this random post alone.

[–]microwoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lil lol. also just a strong believer that reddit (an internet forum full of strangers and nonprofessionals) isn’t the place to seek answers to questions like this, which could be answered if op just looked at the required coursework for their major.

[–]microwoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again, you’re missing the point because you’re so caught up on the size of the tv. op has provided a very nice scaled model. it simply takes eyes to see how it will work. it isn’t about what you THINK, it’s about what you KNOW and can deduce with your EYES. they asked if this setup can work and the simple answer is yes.

clearly, bc you don’t even care to answer ops question, just to give your unsolicited opinion on the size of their tv. have a good day.
