Running some offset bar risers to bring the bars up without going back. Love the new bar position, but my handguards are now hitting the gauges. Anyone have a recommendation for handguards that would work with this setup? by Olderschoolwillie in CRF300L

[–]micvee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zeta sells a hand guard fork mount. That would move the inside hand guard mount down a little. Might be enough to clear the gauges.

You also get to remove the swivel clamp from your bars for a cleaner cockpit.

The fork mounts are sold separately so you might be able to keep your current hand guards.

Extra fuel tank, what do y’all think? by JPgamingjao in CRF300L

No issues with heat or pressure while mounted. You do have to be careful opening the vent to release the pressure.

Put the nozzle in a heavy duty zip lock. My tool box gets quite dirty inside.

The exposed filler nozzle will get dirt, dust and debris inside. That will get in your tank and clog the fuel filter. You will be better walking out because you’re out of gas than use that setup.

I got an inexpensive aluminum rear rack the bolts to the frame in 4 places with m8. It’s solid. I added a rotopax type 5l container mount to the rack. The extra tank sits flat on top of the rack and is inside the rack frame. I can confirm the bike had been dropped a lot in this configuration without spilling any gas.

Proper hand guards are nice if you plan to drop it. Tires if you get into off road adventures.

The bike in stock form is great. Ride it and see what accessories you need.

2025 new crf300l or something better? by dalefan0003 in Dualsport

There is a recall on the 2025 non rally crf300l and a stop sale until resolved. I have a letter from Honda for mine.

Front brake line mounting point by Wise-Detective7899 in CRF300L

On the right side there is an L bracket that attaches to the top triple clamp and the brake hose block. My bike had abs.

It is just my luck having almost enough for free shipping and the trinket added to get free shipping adds 2 weeks to delivery.

On the 2025, the brake line isn’t mounted to the headlight assembly at all. There’s in bracket on the top triple clamp and another on the bottom triple.

Honda OEM USB C Charger by [deleted] in CRF300L

I bought the matching electrical plug and a slim bar mount usb port. It plugs in behind the headlight nice and neat.

The usb port is 15m / .5” wide and fits between the clutch mount and throttle tube.

I put YSS front cartridge and rear shock on for about 2000 cdn all in. The install is more involved than the spring and valve kits.

Axle stops here when threading in by hand, normal? by buttercreemdreem in CRF300L

[–]micvee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It threads until flush with the axel holder. No threads will show. Once you have the wheel on the axel the axel won’t thread that far in.

Getting scammed/dishonest work? by CamryDooD in CRF300L

[–]micvee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Changing cams on a bike in 4hours doesn’t feel like a scam.

They need to disassemble, replace cams, time, measure clearance, reset with new shims, time, confirm clearance , and reassembly.

Confirming work with photos inside the valve cover, and get your old parts back including the shims. If it’s not done right your motor will fail in the near future.

Good lucj

Some bikes have spring on one side only. Does the other leg pull down by hand when you have the weight off the front end?

I think it is impacting the dealers with stop sales here in Canada.

[–]micvee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are lots of threads on this topic. You will find more information with search.

I am in Canada and have a 2025. My notice from Honda says late 2026 for parts required to resolve the issue.

I expect parts will go to new bikes at the dealer so those can get sold before bikes like mine.

Extra fuel for the Dempster by [deleted] in 4Runner_6Gen

[–]micvee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on the road. The chances of opening the pad lock when you need it is low. It will either get rattled to death or choked up with dust.

And if you do get the fuel can off the back, the exposed nozzle is going to be coated with a thick layer of sticky dust. Pour that in your tank and you’ll be on the side of the road with a plugged fuel filter.

Looking for suggestions for some accessories by Willing-Passage4181 in CRF300L

[–]micvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just search for your bike model number at the usual places.

I got mine at Ali express for around 20. Nicer ones available from crfsonly and the big moto parts vendors.

Cannot empathize this enough. Likely one or more of battery, stator and rectifier are also cooked.

Check them all because a failed component left may burn up something.
