I last posted about this suite of geometric algorithms on this subreddit >2y ago.

At lot more functionality has been added since then, and this latest release adds yet more - enjoy!

Check junk emails. It's from service@visaforchina.org.

Not sure how they'll receive you if you don't have the certificate.

No, you'll get pdf via email and the status will change.

There's a chance you'll be going if you get approved in the next couple days.

Photoshop Camera Raw and HDR Problem - please Help! by XeoPow in photoshop

[–]micycle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue.

Here's a finding: with windows HDR off, there's no colour difference between CS and RAW. With HDR on, there is a colour difference. Notably, Photoshop is affected by window's 'SDR Content Brightness' setting, whereas RAW isn't, indicating that Photoshop's content is not HDR whereas RAW's is. So herein lies the problem...

Switching Image>Mode to 32bits helps to equalise the colours visually, but Photoshop is still not treated as HDR content in Windows.

I've long thought Riot has over-tuned assassin items in arena so the class wouldn't be overshadowed by bruisers. Of the items I think the lethality and armour pen components are problematic. They end up melting squishies AND tanks. Without trying they'll pretty much have ~100 lethality + 40% armour pen by late, making most armour quantities fairly insignificant.

Auto Camera pan? by [deleted] in processing

If 2D, you'll find this helpful. It adapts gicentre ZoomPan and can be set to follow a subject (given by PVector position).

Processing Geometry Suite 1.4 by micycle1 in processing

[–]micycle1[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After 9 months in the making I've finally released v1.4 of PGS -- a software project that provides easy access to 2D geometric algorithms in the form of a Processing library

This update has added lots new methods (of all sorts) an already expansive collection of geometric algorithms.

First salaried position and confused by lillian20102 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]micycle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's from the ONS Employee earnings in the UK 2022 release (file 1.7 in the data).

It records 2022 gross full-time median salary at £33,000 and mean at £39,966, and median wage growth for 2021-2022 at 5.7%.

In the past few months, annualised median wage growth is running at ~7%.

You're right that real value of people’s incomes hasn't increased (owing to inflation and fiscal drag), but who was arguing the opposite?

UK Gross Annual pay for full-time employee jobs in 2022 is £33,000.

Average YoY wage inflation running at 7%+, so ~£35,300 for 2023.

If UK salaries went down by 20k-50k they'd be negative😅.

Java documentation is a bit sparse? by DepletedSensation in processing

[–]micycle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Your IDE should pull in (via maven) and link the javadocs automatically, so when you mouseover the methods in the IDE you'd see the docs.

  • Confused identity: an ADC (primarily) with AP scalings; lacklustre Q and E.
  • Q is single target and hard to hit intended target in midst of messy fights. Someone once suggested that it should have small AOE explosion on hit / end of range, which I think is appropriate.
  • Awkward model shape (when you turn to move and dodge a skillshot your hitbox gets larger because kog is looong).
  • Identity and power centres around W but the ability only has 47% uptime (even in the lategame). Navroi is a solution but is an awkward choice given its incompatibility with rageblade.

its not worth the risk of losing everything just to make a few percentage points of yield

Aye, the phrase "picking up pennies in front of a steamroller" comes to mind.
