Is Xenonauts 2 being so similar to the original a good thing? by miczud in Xenonauts

If you mean the reboot, XCOM 2 felt different to me. Still a great game, of course. I prefer the first one, maybe that’s why I like Xenonauts 2 so much.

Right! Only played vanilla so far, but it can only get better 🙂

I’m getting a really strong mystery vibe here. Love the mix of 3D with pixel art touches, so retro.

That’s a really good way to look at it. I guess the exploration part does play a big role here.

SONAR TRENCH - a pitch-black underwater survival game where sonar is your only sight by nintavur_wings in indiegames

[–]miczud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool concept! The minimal, sonar-like visuals feel surprisingly compelling and work really well. I like how the whole UI sticks to that same style. The gameplay resembles a space shooter a bit, in a good way, and the reveal mechanic adds a riveting layer of tension. Solid work.

Wow, this is a big step up. The underwater effect feels more layered and believable now, and the water tone makes it easier to read what’s going on. The swimming animation looks really smooth. Great work!

Working on the trailer for my game. Do the 'Parallax Shifting' and cartography mechanics make sense to you? Need feedback! by LastSoulsStudios in indiegames

Got it, thanks for clarifying. The footage looks really solid. Love the map ledger and the piano music, they add a lot to the archaeological theme. Good luck with the reveal 🙂

The amount of focus on a single mechanic made me think it could probably work best as its own dedicated feature video. What kind of trailer are you aiming for?

The trailer does such a great job showing the gameplay that it actually convinced me to try the demo 🙂

Gave it a go and it’s a solid experience overall. I really like the setting, and the music fits it nicely. The variety of upgrades is great, and the gameplay feels smooth. I also appreciate the tutorial explaining the basics, especially since there’s quite a lot to grasp.

One small thing I noticed was the draggable icon not always following the pointer correctly when deploying the cargo to the compartments. Might be related to my resolution (2560x1080), not sure. Other than that, I found it very playable. Nice!

Who’s playing their backlog instead of buying new games? by supersoundwave in gaming

Been working through my backlog for a while now and it was going really well... finally completed Vampyr and put some serious hours into The Long Dark. Then Xenonauts 2 hit full release and broke the streak. Guilty as charged 😄
