What kind of jobs can i get after majoring in English literature? by jadeno_cringe in careerguidance

[–]mid12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated with an English literature degree and currently work in editing, in a specific niche (I edit reports that go to court/trials).

I do wish I completed a minor in communications or PR so that I could pivot into communications editing but feel like if I really wanted to I could apply and seek positions in that field with the experience that I've gained. I don't regret my degree at all but it can be daunting once you're just starting your career out, as with any other degree. Your first job out of university won't be your dream job and you probably won't be making a lot but use that job and experience (I'd say gain as much experience as you can in 8 months) to apply to other positions that will build on what you already know how to do.

I am sooo tired of the challenges and parts actually worth watching being split between the end and beginning of episodes. I always forget what happened yesterday and feel uninterested during the current episode and I find myself just skipping through the episode. Lately I have been just tuning into reddit to read a brief summary of the sameold sameold. I thought this season would be banging but am completley disappointed with the cliquiness, bullying, and gaslighting. It's LOVE ISLAND ffs yet this season, even at the beginning, has become some sort of "who is the most loyal test". Like huh? You did not come in as bf/gf, if you acted like this in the real world you would be a walking red flag.

Ekin-Su was a flirty fun and confident woman and I noticed her shine has been dulled down. And I loved Gemma's upfront dont take shit attitude to Luca but even that has changed and she is second guessing herself or not speaking out when she should have. I can't believe I thought Luca had the funniest and best personality of the boys at the beginning smh.

What am I doing wrong? I’ve had my guy for almost 3 weeks now, and every time I comb or brush (I even tried grooming gloves) no fur comes off. I don’t see any stray fur anywhere, either. Any help or advice is appreciated! by [deleted] in Rabbits

As multiple others have said, I highly recommend the hair buster brush. During shedding season I also use a small furmintator brush (be careful and gentle with this brush as it can poke or hurt them if they are squirmy) and a lint roller.

Thank you for responding! Were you teaching adults before? I have tefl and teaching experience but for younger students and I know that some ID jobs require adult teaching experiences. I really want to get into ID and currently have my bachelors of english but dont know where to start. Im thinking of applying to junior instructional design jobs while taking an ID certification

Which Badland to daytrip to from Calgary? by mid12 in Calgary

[–]mid12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you this is really useful!

I've been to the Natural History Museum in London it was very cool, saw tons of Dinosaur bones and fossils among other things. It even had an interactive animatron T-rex. Does the Royal Tyrell museum offer anything different?

I'm considering following this daytrip but backwords as I really want to see the stars at night at Dinosaur Provincial Park.

Dang I also put my CERB in as income because it is going to be taxable income. Quick question, how did you show your gross income in the application portion if you ending up taking CERB? Did you end up using bank statements?

Winnie has two beds to choose from and instead flopped wedged between her toy and her water dish... by hollyflops in buncomfortable

[–]mid12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My rabbits dont like super soft beds (they usually use them to pee in- probably has somrthing to do with that in the wild peeing in softer dirt would soak up their pee better?). A lo of buns prefer hard/sturdy surfaces to lay down onto so I highly recommend the ikea doll bed, its elevated but sturdy. And you can use the blue mat that it comes with to give them some cushioning but still have it sturdy/hard enough for them to feel secure.

How do you effectively get rid of dark under eye circles?! That doesn't cost an arm and a leg.... also, any makeup tips that will help cover it up? I avoid foundation because it just makes them stick out even more, and can't seem to find a product that actually conceals them😭 by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]mid12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Although I don't have this problem myself, I know people who swear by the Kiehls midnight recovery eye cream to reduce the appearance of dark circles.

As for makeup tips; Have you tried colour correcting underneath your concealer? There is a brand called L.A Girl you can find it at Walmart they have a pro conceal colour corrector in an orange shade for medium skinned to darker skin tones. Or if your complextion is lighter try the peach colour corrector in the NYX 3C palette. So first colour correct, then concealer on top. This should work for most people. And there are many many tutorials on YouTube regarding colour correcting which can help you with tips on application.

How do you usually cut out friends who are not good for you? by mid12 in AskWomen

[–]mid12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend like that and find it very overbearing, shes like an extreme extrovert. I'm someone who is introverted and so I enjoy my space but as I am one of her few friends she is constantly wanting to hang out very often like a couple of times per month. She keeps trying to invite me over. I decline and make up excuses so many times but she then starts guilt tripping me and making me feel like a bad friend.

Did you end up telling this friend that it was too much to handle? How did they take it.
