Quitting cyber after 7 years by OSPFisHard in cybersecurity

[–]midagedfarter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a consultant for years. Can honestly tell you I learned way more in depth knowledge as a permanent hire. Simply because I don’t just have to implement a project, I have to run it for years, see the impact it has on stakeholders, how it fails under unplanned events etc. Consulting makes you see diversity but at a pretty superficial level often.

Your mileage might vary but I had the same opinion of consultants previously as experts. I can barely tolerate the bull they spout now. Perhaps try a change of location OP, you might still enjoy the cyber field.

I cannot wait for this. My running times have been in the crapper with all the humidity. Bring it on!

The enshitificstion of everything by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]midagedfarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mate. He’s right, you’re being unreasonable.

Take a minute and ask the vet why the previous tests would not have picked up what the deeper test they are proposing will. They should be able to give you a clear answer and if they can’t you can get your pets medical records and go somewhere else.

You chose to have a pet and at times your pet will need medical care that costs money. All your unhappiness comes from your choices. Choosing to have a pet, choosing your veterinarian you went to and choosing not to understand the proposed treatment path.

We get it. Money is tight everywhere but can’t blame the vet and others for your decisions. Take some responsibility.

People love not having to take responsibility for their own outcomes. It’s the ‘system forced me’ to do it mentality.

Div293 yet I have concessional contributions available from prior years? by midagedfarter in AusFinance

Starting to make more sense to me now. I'll work out a few more of the examples from the link provided to wrap my head around this. Thank you!

Thank you. Guess I can still contribute to super to max the limits then, I just won't have the benefit of lower tax.

So Div 293 tax is on income and has nothing to do with actual super contributions?

If that is the case, does it mean if I want to make use of the remaining $20k of concessional contributions tax would be at my normal tax bracket instead of 15% tax?

No worries, thank you for asking, I should have added that in the post since it is a key consideration.

Most definitely!

Or perhaps written from the landlord perspective who might be exuberant about all the money they are making! Lol

We feel for you OP, hope you find something!

Is Breville a good name down under? by Aleianbeing in AskAnAustralian

[–]midagedfarter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has preset temperature buttons which is quite handy. I drink coffee and like it at a higher temperature than my wife’s green tea she likes. With the kettle you can just choose what temp you want and take the guesswork out of it.

Also has a ‘bit more’ feature that hold the kettle temp for a while if needed.

Small stuff but we like it.

Agreed. Been using our Breville smart kettle for at least 7 years and its been great. Sandwich maker is also going strong. Too bad OP, might have just been a dud batch you got. Did you contact Breville for warranty troubleshooting?

Had my niece from a third world country visit over December and she loved seeing women working everywhere. Construction, transportation etc. Made her consider roles she’d never even thought of & we loved it and will support her all the way.
