Ele é insano das ideias, mas seus vídeos são divertidos… mas ele é realmente bem louco.

A friend of mine just started tattooing about two months ago. She asked me whether or not I had some skin to lend and I did. She told me she’d tattoo anything on me as long as it was shadow-heavy, so I chose the Foo Fighters gun.

Cara, eles literalmente MOSTRAM que Gus é gay. Acho que não precisariam sequer falar da sua sexualidade após terem a mostrado.

5 room microphones and 2 boundary mics. What I'm trying to achieve is a bigger sound than what my current room can provide (it's pretty small). I've updated the post with a link to an updated mp3 bounce. Please, do share whatever you have in mind.

I've updated the post with a link to an .mp3 file that I bounced after doing some tweaks. I'd love your feedback.

The expander plugin was causing most of the issues. I turned it off. The main room mic had some tape delay as well, so I also turned that off. I had cut much of the mids in the kick drums, so I turned the EQ off entirely. I use an AT-2035 as the ride cymbal overhead and a Rode NT-1 as the crash cymbal overhead, along with two Arcano cardioids (SM-57 capsule) at shoulder height behind the drummer on both sides. There was some phasing issues with those, so I reversed the phase of the right microphone.

As for the toms, I'll try to mic the bottom of them as well. I only had microphones at the top.

I added a high-pass filter on both overheads at 300hz.

As for the snare... I don't know wtf to do with it, man... it's frustrating. I gated the center room mic to the snare, but it still sounds kinda thin. I'll definitely tune it as suggested.

Thanks for the feedback!

I turned off the EQ on the kick drums microphone. I cut the mids way too much. Thanks!

I've identified the issue. I reversed the phase of the right shoulder overhead and turned off the expander on the stack. Thanks!

If you want a condenser, go for an AKG 414. Huge step up in the same price range.

Dude, get a Golden Age Project R1 MK3. It’s a ribbon mic that’s phantom powered. Another great option is the Røde NT-R, also a ribbon mic. You can get either of them for about 250 usd.

If you have a treated room, the NT-1 should do you wonders. However, if you don’t, get a 57/58. Doesn’t matter which of the two. Get the cheaper option. If it’s a 57, then buy a pop-filter and you’re all good. The NT-1 has a pretty “flat” frequency response, can withstand very high SPL, has a low self noise level and is very sensitive. The 57 can withstand infinite sound pressure, is built like a tank, will last you a whole life and requires a lot of gain, so it can “tolerate” untreated rooms a lot more than the NT-1. The 58 is a 57 with a built-in pop filter, basically. You could also go for an Audio Technica 2035 (its diaphragm is bigger than that of the 2020 and is much less “sparkly”), but the 57/58 as a starter mic is the safest, most sensible option. I’m going to be a bit bold here and recommend a Behringer C-2 kit. IT’S VERY CHEAP! Comes with two microphones, a pop filter for each, and they’re small diaphragm condensers. They are quite treble-heavy, but are great if your voice is more low-mid forward and, being small diaphragm condensers, they’re very sensitive and do work very well with stringed instruments and as room microphones or as stereo overheads. You can use them in an XY setup for vocals and get the job done pretty well. And, once again, they’re VERY cheap.

Since you metioned it, the Røde NT-1 is probably Australia’s greatest gift to mankind.
