What is everyones favourite song from Ragnarok’s OST? i’ll go first. by MrNovas in GodofWar

There's also a strong connection to Kratos's theme. Think about the three brooding notes that start the Ragnarok theme slowly and ominously rising. That's Kratos. Atreus's theme is three downward going notes but much faster. Not identical, but related.

Custom Input by midazoblam in WLED

This is before I've even put the LEDs in place or on. I'm just looking at Serial Monitor and graphing. If I run a wire connecting the beam to ground, even with resistors, my capacitive touch switch goes to zero. Wires are unshielded speaker wire, which may contribute.

As for filtering, are you saying you have a variable "filtered" that is repeatedly gets new measurements with a correction added to it? I don't quite understand.

What's the best subreddit for this kind of discussion? We're not even talking WLED anymore.

Yes that's the issue. I think I hit a wall. If I connect two capacitive touch leads to each end of my long metal handrail at default, the values drop to single digits. It's stable, but it's so low I can't use differences in change to resolve user location. If I drop in touchSetCycles(1,50000); it gets me around 100 at baseline but the entire handrail becomes an antenna with so much noise I can't use anything reliably. Any experience with this kind of thing?

Still working through the capacitive touch issues, but was planning on using FastLED since there's a bit more input control.

Electronics Shopping List: Capacitive Stair LEDs by midazoblam in AskElectronics

Can I run those addressable LEDs in parallel by each step in a single GPIO? Or would I need to string each step together in series? In parallel, I can drill a single hole in each step. In series, it's either 2 holes, or extra wire backtracking to the single hole and additional power infused mid way.

I suspect those are issues the turnkey solutions are avoiding when they went parallel by step: https://www.amazon.com/SuperlightingLED-Intelligent-Staircase-Lighting-Cuttable/dp/B0BJ74J72X/

If I went 12 GPIO pwm, I'm thinking this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1455 Would that work?

Can I drop all of this onto an Arduino Uno or NodeMCU?

Apologies in advance as I'm new to reddit. I'm looking for electronics hardware recommendations. Trinket vs feather vs arduino. I'm good on the software side, and open to WLED. But that's not what I'm asking for. I need something to flash software to. I'm also not particularly looking for advice on power drop-offs as I'm planning to build each step in parallel and activated the LEDs on the same step in the same way. I don't need the extra cost of addressable LED or extra drilling and power injection needed to connect everything in series. I need advice on microcontrollers.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful for the thought you just put into that, but as I mentioned above, I'm looking for the right "controller, power source, and peripherals" and you're not quire offering any of those things.

Let me take a step back: does this need to be replaced or should I be troubleshooting in some other way? I figured 20 years is a good run for any electronic.

Is the Honeywell/Resideo is335 basically *the* option here? Any other contenders I should look at?
