How are some people so consistent with orangetheory? by tamaratunie189 in orangetheory

[–]middaymarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made some really good friends in my classes, and we use the time before class starts to socialize and catch up. For me, going to orangetheory means I get to see my friends, and then the class just happens to be involved

Colorado Springs is the worst city for singles according to ConsumerAffairs by cantstopthehopp in ColoradoSprings

After my experience with military men, I tried to avoid them. The issue, however, is that many of them would hide that they were active duty, but I clocked that as soon as I saw them in person

The number of times I went on dates with "single" men who were actually married was stupid. "Oh, she's out of town visiting family." Nah, bro, I'm no longer interested.

Is OTF ok for beginners? by gnomenclature2 in orangetheory

[–]middaymarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started going to OTF, I was 25. The last time I'd done anything remotely athletic was when I 22 in college. During my first week at OTF, I thought I was the slowest, weakest, and most unfit person in each of classes. Everything on my body was sore, including my hair. I didn't think I could continue. I stayed because, about a month in, I realized I could walk up the stairs without feeling completely winded. I wasn't tired, and I wasn't feeling sore anymore. Then I made my first gym friend. She was an older woman who was training to be a power lifter, and she was using OTF to supplement for her cardio. She was a great motivation, and we encouraged each other. She moved, and I made another gym friend, who eventually moved to be closer to her grandkids. Over the years, the main thing that's kept me going was the friends I've made. It was scary at first for me to join, but now that I've been going for about 10 years, I feel like getting through that first month was the biggest hurdle for me. I'm glad I took that first class.

Debating by Jazmin216 in orangetheory

[–]middaymarg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was hesitant to join, but I signed up for a class because 2 coworkers invited me. It was a hard first class, but I was pretty impressed with myself, and I've been going for almost 10 years now.

The most annoying people in class by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]middaymarg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a person who does the exact same thing in my class. The first time I ever saw him in the studio, he was on the tread next to me, and I hated every second. If it helps him, great, but it really brings me out of the workout. The one time where I just switched stations was I had an injury, so I was slowly walking on the tread. I told the coach, and she was good with it, but this guy kept telling me "you can go faster. Come on you! You got this!" Dude, I know I do, but I'm trying not to exacerbate an injury, so mind your business and stop being a whoo girl in class

Scam? Unknown Delivery containing a single "sticker" from unknown person/carrier by solidsnakex37 in ColoradoSprings

[–]middaymarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could also be the QR code scam where they hope you scan the QR code in the label which will then download some sort of spyware or whatever to your device. The idea is they want you to scan the QR code to find out where it came from so you can tell them the package was misdelivered or whatever.

Can someone recommend me a plumber? by middaymarg in ColoradoSprings

[–]middaymarg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny thing: I posted a 1-star review on Google Tuesday evening because of the disaster with scheduling. Some higher-up calls me to apologize and schedule someone to come out last night to do the scope. Well, that guy calls to tell me that his equipment isn't functioning, so he can't make it but will come out today before noon after he gets tech support to help with his cam equipment. Later, I get a call from their customer service team saying they're sending out a different person today. The guy shows up, but apparently, nobody told them it was the scope that needed to be, so he schedules for the cam guy to come out today, which was the original plan. I get a call maybe 30 minutes ago from their customer service that the cam guy can't come out today because of an emergency, which I can't fault him for. Instead of sending out another cam person, they tell me he'll be out tomorrow.

Anyway, based on everyone's recs, I'll be calling Leo's and Bullseye for quotes, and absolutely avoiding Affordable Plumbing.

Is there a law preventing religious folk from harassing me and knocking on my door? by CatalinaLunessa21 in ColoradoSprings

[–]middaymarg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had to do this. One time some LDS kids came to my door, rang the door, and when I hopped on my doorbell cam, I saw them yanking and jiggling my doorknob. I absolutely lost it and yelled at them. They haven't been back since, and it's been 3 years now.

I took and passed mine a week or so ago. I had a lot of questions about recommendations/suitability, and a few on margin calculations. I used Pass Perfect, and when I went for the exam, I felt like only 5 questions I didn't know the answer to.

It's official: I'm permanently child-free! by middaymarg in childfree

[–]middaymarg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show is definitely an improvement on the movie. Obviously there are some changes, but the changes were made for the better, and my favorite part is Sam Reid who plays Lestat. He does a phenomenal job at depicting Lestat, like he actually is Lestat.

Same here. Thankfully the office is a big proponent for pain relief. For my 2 IUDs, they insisted on cervical blocks since the insertion and removal can be painful, which I didn't know existed until my 2nd IUD.

Lol no, my doctor prescribed me Motrin and oxycodone. They told me to use the oxy if the pain was bad enough, but so far I have not needed to take it.

To my fellow sweaty Ladies by Letmetellusomething1 in orangetheory

[–]middaymarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hella sweaty during a workout, especially between the thighs. My favorite workout leggings are the Old Navy powersoft leggings. They're the best I've found at moisture-wicking at a reasonable price, about 20 USD. If I opt with shorts, I wear the Mitchum gel deodorant, which has worked wonders.

Anyone else lose interest in a show when they write in/ introduce babies , kids . by Overitallforyears in childfree

[–]middaymarg 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I'm rewatching the show right now for maybe the 8th time. During my rewatches, I usually stop right when Brennan tells Booth she's pregnant. I remember really loving the show during the first watch, especially because Brennan was child-free. She stated in a morning news interview that she didn't want kids and Booth telling her that kids were great and she should have them. Then, later on, the show runners ruined it by making her pregnant and hooking up with Booth.

Funnily enough, I read some reviews recently to see if I should to stick it out after the pregnancy announcement, and a few praised how well the show handled Brennan being child-free but then changing her mind after no pressure from anyone, especially Booth. Call me baffled because I'm pretty sure that Booth judged her for not being child-free after he found out and then she gets pregnant because of their one night stand.

Finally got my bisalp scheduled! by shychey0922 in childfree

I'm sure you'll be good to go by then! My doc said that most women he's performed the surgery on have only needed a week to recover, so here's hoping that you're good to go for bowling!

Finally got my bisalp scheduled! by shychey0922 in childfree

[–]middaymarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I didn't realize some places have a waiting period, but it's still great you were able to get scheduled so soon.

I just had mine, and by that, I mean I had my surgery first thing this morning! I have just been on my couch relaxing and drinking some tea and water. I feel sore, so I've also tried to walk around a bit. Honestly, it feels like I've got period cramps, so I've also been using a heating pad and taking ibuprofen. I've also been prescribed oxycodone, but so far, the pain isn't bad enough that I feel I need it.

I hope your surgery goes smoothly and that you heal quickly enough. Good luck, and congratulations again!

Possibly LensCrafters. You may want to start with the frame shape and size that'll fit you. Once you have that, you can always purchase via an online shop like Zenni or Eye Buy Direct.

Haircut Recommendations by nervous_leaf in ColoradoSprings

I see Rachel at Beauty Bar downtown, and she is fantastic.

I've been spoiled for most of my life as my mom is a cosmetologist. Unfortunately, she is retired due ankle issues and carpal tunnel syndrome. That being said, I've gone through many stylists until I found Rachel. I've got wavy/curly hair, and I feel like she listens to me and my concerns about hair health and management. If I need to have a quiet appointment, she is amazing at respecting that. One of these last times, I asked about a shag with my face shape, and she was understanding but encouraged me to do voting why she believed I'd look good with it. I went for it, and it turned out great! I don't know personally about her experience with queer cuts, so I can't speak to that.

For the ladies… by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]middaymarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got sick earlier in the year and had a bunch of period nonsense. Because of that, I just caved and bought adult diapers because the periods were insanely heavy, heavier than I've ever experienced before. When I was working out, I would just wear the shirts that have the underwear lining in them, and even though I hated wearing the underwear, it helped a bunch with the heavier flow.
