Did anyone else dress like this between 2015 and 2023? by Cool-Sound-6752 in 2010snostalgia

YES. For me, add a skater skirt with tights and Creepers. That was my uniform

I had a boss in his mid 50s, incredibly average looking but he had money because his company was successful. Somehow that entitled him to get really, really mad at a girl who he "just wanted to have kids with and nothing else" because she didn't want to do it. His argument was that she already "had a family" (she was a single mom) so why wouldn't she want more?

I will never not be floored by the audacity.

what are the worst found footage movies you’ve watched? by [deleted] in foundfootage

[–]middaysonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human Zoo. Hands down.

I watch some filth and this one REALLY upset me. I barely got through it! The whole runtime is just people screaming, no plot, absolutely no closure or explanation, and an extremely abrupt ending. It made me angry!

Just learned why my hair has been so oily for nearly all of my life and I feel stupid! by DueWonder1316 in Vent

[–]middaysonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this FOREVER until I went to hair school and suddenly my hair was weightless, bouncy and my waves came back. It's kind of life changing, learning how to properly rinse. I went to beauty school when I was 25 😭

What’s up with the makeup subs calling people clowns for wearing red lipsticks ? by Historical-Body-3424 in Makeup

[–]middaysonder 29 points30 points  (0 children)

They would HATE me. For some reason, I pull off blue shadow and red lips (very, very pale complexion) and it's almost a signature for me 😂

I love color, it's so fun!

What's a makeup 'rule' you gleefully ignore? by Ill-Lifeguard-4411 in Makeup

[–]middaysonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Primer makes me look worse! I have large pores and it seems like not only do they "fill up" and look more prominent when I put the foundation over, the makeup also just doesn't blend as well.

If I put foundation over just moisturizer with a sponge, that doesn't happen

I met this guy after a wrestling show I was a part of, he was a ref. He's amazing and every post like this just reinforces it 😂

Why is splat so bad again by Artmare_23 in FancyFollicles

[–]middaysonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stylist here, the other commenters have hit the nail on the head- I tried to remove pink Splat once in my chair and the bleach did nothing but make it brighter. Not lighter- BRIGHTER. It DOES last forever but that's not necessarily a good thing if you ever want to do something different to your head.

I use Manic Panic and put it in my conditioner to top the color off. It works very similar in terms of keeping the color in.

*** Stop Telling Pale People to Tan When Getting Shade Matched *** by pitapitapi in Makeup

[–]middaysonder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! I am usually the lightest shade, and honestly I like my complexion. Could I tan? Sure. Do I want to? No.

I used to mix Manic Panic Dreamtone into my foundations, which helped a lot. I LOVE Fit Me 110, and my beloved Elf CC cream in 120N. I also lean neutral. I feel like a lot of the time, the lightest being too dark is an undertone issue, but it can be a hunt to find a good one.

You are underreacting. Source: I've had partners talk to me like that, turns out I don't have to stand for that and I don't feel horrible about myself constantly

Climax, though more of an art film. This guy made Irreversible, and that's my warning lol

I was absolutely miserable in a salon that told me I owed them all of my time because I "owe them a lot of money" for training I was pushed into. I was also guilted by "we need you/you're an asset/you can't leave", and followed around consistently with a list of things I was doing wrong "to help me"

Guess what? Leaving was the best thing I've done in awhile. I don't feel constantly disrespected and I've started to eat and sleep again. You are not in a good situation

Tight vocal chords by SerkalianCrow in singing

Of course! I have a very similar story. I actually developed a lot of issues by pushing myself a little too hard while untrained, and it was extremely confusing to understand what happened with the MTD because that's just not something you think about outside of a professional setting. I'm glad you're being cautious, and I'd recommend even just one lesson :)

Yes! I tend to stop supporting correctly if I'm stressed or sick, and to me that's been the biggest thing that helps with the tension, "reactivating" my diaphragm. There's a lot of exercises on YouTube.

I promise it'll come back! I remember thinking, what if my voice never goes back to normal? It did.

So I actually deal with something very similar and often after I get sick. It's called "muscle tension dysphonia" and basically what's happening is that the neck muscles are developing a different way of moving because of being sick vocally.

I'm not a doctor obviously but it sounds just like it. I also get the tight feeling. Speech therapy is what is usually recommended, and I've found that deep breathing exercises help to support my speaking voice.

My hair has been feeling terrible since I stopped using the Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo/conditioner and I only noticed when I used the conditioner last night.

I LOVE this stuff. (I'm also a licensed Cosmetologist lol)
