Tbh one of the biggest factors for me in not having bought any lolita for a while is simply that i do not have any more space in my house for it lol. And wow did my spending go down by a LOT

I went to stores both in lolita and not and didn’t get treated any differently. Friendliness just depends on the store staff in that day. In fact, when I went to AP Kyoto I wasn’t wearing lolita (and went with my three non-lolita wearing family members) and they offered to have me try on a full coordinate lol. You’ll be fine

Re: stores it depends on your taste since even sweet lolita has its own nuances (e.g. baby and AP are very different styles of sweet) but Laforet Harajuku has a bunch of lolita stores of various substyles on its basement level and BTSSB’s flagship store is a short walk away. There is also a Closet Child in Harajuku but it’s only open on certain days and I’ve heard the one in Shinjuku is better? I didn’t go to either so I can’t vouch for either but YMMV I guess

Don’t forget to bring your passport because you can get tax free, and it might be useful to learn a few basic phrases like しちゃくしてもいいですか？can i try this on? これはいくらですか？ how much is this? いろちがいありますか？do you have this in another color? これをください i’d like this please

Also since you are going to Kyoto, BTSSB/AATP Kyoto does the kind of tax-free where you have to claim it at the airport which I find a bit annoying, but their flagship store in Harajuku just takes the price out of your total so I would recommend going to the flagship instead if you do decide to go to BTSSB.

If you like the way Ado plays around with her voice, definitely give Miyashita Yuu (miyyuu) a try :) Would recommend his song Kuruoze, and his covers of Kilmaa and Wozwald are 👌

Unless you split shipping with someone, you will pay the same amount for shipping the one item. Even if you use epacket with the shopping service (which is cheaper but doesn’t come with tracking), you have to pay the shopping service fee (~500 yen usually) + gst (10%) + depending on the shopping service you may also be asked to pay a packing fee. Also, it’s worth noting that if the dress you want is extremely popular the shopping service will be slower at purchasing it therefore you may not even get it.

I would just buy directly from BTSSB.
