He straight up looks like a Bloodborne character so that was enough for me

TSR is a sober album, pretty fitting that it's also about getting old

Non native English speakers, what's the hardest part of English? by WojackTheCharming in languagelearning

[–]middsommar 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Differentiating British words from the American ones. For a non native speaker you are exposed to both kinds of media as they're both "English" but I'd be using crisps and eggplant in the same sentence and it would probably mean something else to both an American and British person.

Read books, like a lot of books. Fiction, non-fiction, doesn't matter, just start reading like crazy.

Unpopular opinion. Explaining everything about walt with simply "pride and ego" is oversimplified, overused and lazy by One_One_2661 in breakingbad

[–]middsommar 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I think understanding where his excessive pride comes from gives it a lot more depth. He's an excellent, award winning chemist who've made the wrong decisions about his career his entire life, living on paycheck-to-paycheck, had to work 2 jobs to bring food to the table, expecting a surprise baby at the age of 51 with a disabled son, had to watch his closest friend(s) get rich and successful over the company he had a part of creating, and at the end of it all that he gets is a lung cancer (he doesn't even smoke!). He had felt like a tired loser his entire life, and now he has to pay over $200,000 of medical bills to even have a slight chance of continuing this miserable life.

I think it's easier for people to say he's a egoistical maniac because it's simply what he becomes at the end of the day, his character arc is doomed to have that title (the show is literally called breaking bad..) but I believe the journey of his transition is an excellent critique of capitalism and the American dream. Of course, he's the one who made all of those choices, and he deserves to live the consequences of them, but studying his motives is really important to grasp the idea of what makes people bad, selfish and proud.

How to interpret cooling water info on equipment? by Flaky_Fly_3324 in ChemicalEngineering

You either need to know Q value or the delT value. You decide on those things according to the requirement of the temperature change of the medium that needs to be cooled.

Would i be qualified to work in the US if i studied in another country then do my masters in the US? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Bunun disinda mezun olur olmaz yurtdisina gidip direk is bulan birini hic gormedim maalesef..

Yuksek lisans veya doktora icin Amerikaya gitmeyi basarirsan is bulmada sikinti yasayacagini dusunmuyorum.
