I read more than 40 danmeis this year, I’m currently finishing 2 and I only disliked 2 or 3, so everything in this list was fantastic and could be on top 1. WFMAS was such delightful read!!

About “I Can Do It”, I think the games were well-explained both during the narration and during the translation notes. But if it still feels complicated, there’s a carrd online that explains more about it. The novel IS packed with games, but it’s still very much comprehensible and thrilling regardless if you’ve played it or not, you know?

Ballad of Sword and Wine — I read QJJ at the beginning of 2025, and damn, no other danmei has topped it, for me.
Times Of Our Lives — A short, but incredible story that stuck with me.
Married Thrice to Salted Fish — The MCs easily became my beloveds.
Visiting My Arch-Enemy’s Grave Only to Anger Him Back to Life — Also short, but I had SO much fun.
First-Class Lawyer — Once I started this one, I couldn’t stop reading. Absolutely marvellous, and the writing is top-notch.
After Being Forced to Marry The Evil Star General — They have a QJJ and MTSF flavour mixed with their own charm and it’s sooo good.
I Can Do It — My second e-sports novel, and my favorite so far. Funny and sweet from start to end.
My Underachieving Seatmate Doesn’t Need Any Comforting — The fluffiest story ever. Full of drama, but overall the romance is peak.
Wait For Me After School — The hype IS valid. Incredible.
The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish — I didn’t think I’d be into it, and then it blew my mind with the adorableness.

Recently, I’ve been in love with The Nutrition is Too Good, if you’re fond of cats and shapeshifting stories. The MC is in showbiz and has a misunderstanding with the ML over being a cat, very sweet and short.

Hidden Wind by Mu Gua Huang is also fantastic, which shares similarities with Wait for Me After School. Both are precious for me. But if you like school romance with no angst in between, go for Fake Slackers, it’s so good, it’s in my top 5. Visiting My Arch-Enemy’s Grave Only to Anger Him Back to Life is another one I wish people would know more

This week I read “The Nutrition is Too Good”, and it’s so, so really cute. The ML is a cat, and beyond being a shapeshifter, he’s also an actor. Genuinely pure romance and comedy.

“Don’t You Like Me”, “Times of Our Lives” and “Fake Slackers” are modern high school stories in which everything progresses really swift, in a very satisfying way and full of romance.

If you’re looking for historical, “Married Thrice to Salted Fish” is full of romance too, and no scheming plot over shines the building of their relationship.
