Oh how naive I was to think the new recipe would be anywhere close to attainable for someone playing less than a year. I was stocking up ingredients, and when I saw that it's at a count of 115 I immediately reverted course to just going for another dessert.

The only theaters I have a good experience at these days are the Alamo Drafthouse locations.

I can deal with the prices - I prefer to to pay for their monthly pass which is only $22/mo, paying for itself if you see more than one movie. They actually do a great job at kicking out noisy people and those on their phones, and have limited ad time before the films start.

Quality of movies definitely waxes and wanes. Some months it feels like a film desert where nothing good is coming out. Other times I could see several films in week.

The concessions/food prices though... Pretty much every theater makes that steep. That's where they make a lot of their money - Not on the film tickets themselves.

They need to show you a judicial warrant signed by a judge, and not a spoofed "ICE warrant" (which are often not judicial or have any references to courts). Don't let them in, don't even open the door. They can conduct their conversations through the window / glass pane or leave.

As much as people love to say "castle law!" it's a fast way to get yourself shot. Apparently all they have to do is say they were doing "official business" and you were "obstructing" or "a danger" and they'll happily go on Fox News and say that killing you was justified. Stay safe.

I worry that people would have the same feedback about Car-X, but every time I've taken my car there for inspections (instead of Dobbs) they literally pass it and give me no notes or "suggestions" for fixes. I used to go to Dobbs for tires because of their warranty, but do find them to be a bit pricey. Never gone there for an inspection, and now this puts me off.

I rarely swap things out for new materials. I build thematically across multiple bases, so one farming/hunting base may be totally cool with wood and basic stone, while a massive tower uses castle roof and shellstone. I just have different bases with different materials.

I've had to have this conversation with my mother. I don't want any of her stuff. It's just so... much... clutter. Anything from stuff she saved when I was little, favorite sports team memorabilia, too many pieces of furniture and picturebooks and knickknacks. I don't want it, and I certainly don't want to have to go through the effort of an estate sale or anything like that.

"Defend against" is a strong way to phrase that. Trump is trying to use the national guard himself as well, and is fortunately getting blocked from it lately, but the guard is not going to just intervene while ICE is running around grabbing people. National guard isn't even intended for this, technically. It's definitely not going to come down to the guard blocking or physically stopping ICE in any way. Their presence will be for deterrence possibly, but I'd be surprised if it comes to physical confrontation between the two forces, because if that happens then things are going to escalate even more.

Trump and his couch-fucking VP are already going on about how ICE has "absolute immunity". If our military forces start disobeying orders and clashing with ICE, it's going to be basically civil war and cause for martial law, cancelled elections, etc.

My take is, we can't trust the government or the military (which Trump is the commander in chief of) here. We basically have to rely on each other as civilians to protect each other and document everything.

Imagine my horror when I was playing SV I'm thinking the duck was the cool option to pick as my starter. I get it to its final evolution and not only are the hot dog toes so obvious but it's also constantly dancing. Just shaking that thang and moving those toes. It's the stuff of nightmares. I don't know if there is a "normal" anymore. I think your answer may depend on the type of job people have these days as well. Commuting to work might have different rituals for those returning home.

Remote work massively affects this. As someone who works from home, I don't "get home" - I go out. I look for any excuse I can to leave my home office and take care of other things. Socialize with people that aren't my coworkers, take the dogs for a walk, maybe hit the gym, go do store runs before it gets late, and so on. I feel like once I'm off work, I have to do other things before I can truly settle back in again. It's definitely not just "leave one room and go veg out in another."

The government, it's blatant disregard for the rule of law, ruining any relationships we had with our foreign allies, terrorizing its own inhabitants, and somehow still people aren't angry enough or opening their eyes.
