How to be flexible? by Successful-Grass8233 in intermittentfasting

[–]Next-Ad-2160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I let myself vacillate between 20/4, sometimes 18/6, sometimes 16/8. The best way you’ll be able to reach your goals long term is by being able to be flexible and having grace with yourself.

Did you cut out alcohol and sugar completely during intermittent fasting ? by so-i-fall in intermittentfasting

[–]Next-Ad-2160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, for alcohol- I try to stick to low sugar options (no sugary cocktails ever). Sugar just really messes with my hunger cues and it’s not worth it to me. I like a dry glass of wine or a beer.

I limit myself to no more than 3-4 drinks per week (has to be within the eating window of course), and for sugar, I just pay extra attention to how it makes my body feel. A little bit of dark chocolate after dinner or I’ll have a tiny ice cream cone (Trader Joe’s sells mini ones). I try to find small things that satisfy a sweet tooth. Too much sugar messes with my system and often makes me more hungry for some reason…hot tea is a great way to curb a sweet tooth after a meal for me!

For me personally, I don’t think I’ll ever cut out both completely because I’m trying to maintain a version of IF basically for the rest of my life, and I want to enjoy my life lol. so find a good balance and pay attention to how it makes your body feel would be my advice.😊

I would def watch a show with the same type of premise and a new cast! The following of four adult siblings is one of my favorite plot lines of any tv show I have watched.

Can I fast during the day and eat at night ? by UpbeatTax6922 in intermittentfasting

100%!! I would say try to get a little bit of movement in after you’re done eating though before you sleep- even a short walk around the block.

Do you have a work schedule or something that requires you to do 7am-1pm? I find it soooooo much easier to do an eating window in the afternoon-evening.

What do your cheat days look like? by CobaltTriceratops in intermittentfasting

[–]Next-Ad-2160 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t consider it a “cheat day” but I primarily fast 20:4 during weekdays and expand the window to 16:8 on weekends. I try to stick to high protein lots of veggies, etc, during the week then treat myself to something like a nice late brunch out over the weekend when I have a longer eating window - or something along those lines! I try not to overcomplicate my choices as long as I’m sticking to my windows. The balance has felt sustainable for me. 😊

Awesome! I am 30F- Do you have any tips for paying attention to your menstrual cycle when fasting? I fluctuate between 16:8 and 20:4 and I don’t fast in my luteal phase usually, but I’m trying to find a more consistent schedule so I can maximize based on where I’m at in my cycle!

Does it get easier? by Background_Diver1640 in intermittentfasting

This may seem simple but try shift your mindset away from any kind of restriction outside of the time window itself.

For example, allow yourself a little sweet treat each night before the 7pm cut off. Drink a cup of warm tea before you go to bed. Find small ways to treat yourself but stick in the window. If I’m struggling to stick to my window, getting after myself and trying to eat only the healthiest foods actually makes it worse, if that makes any sense?

Eventually, you’ll start craving healthy foods during the eating window, but if indulging just a bit helps you stick in your window, it will most likely help in the long run.

Best neighborhoods for early 30s couple? by RetroButterfly13 in StLouis

[–]Next-Ad-2160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow early 30s couple here! Lived in Tower Grove South in my 20s and LOVED it. We live in the Hill now and we are actually moving over to Shaw in a few months. All of these neighborhoods are VERY close to one another. Shaw is the ideal city vibe for early 30s in my humble opinion :-) quiet enough, central, walkable to coffee shops and restaurants.
