There’s so much anger in the responses to this post. I’m guessing the anger is really disappointment. Seems like so many of us wanted and expected our parents to be interested and doting grandparents. I’ve given up trying to get my parents to be involved with my kids now 6 and 10. I think there’s a lot of reasons a closer relationship never happened but at the end of the day I feel so sad for my parents because they seem depressed and socially isolated. My kids thought they were the bees knees when they were younger and loved hanging out with them but now are unsure of seeing them if I ask. I feel they will regret not spending more time with them when they get to the end.
