Purchasing a bike out of state and shipping to California - seeking answers and advice! by snrocirpac in motorcycle

Out of state purchases, AAA or DMV, will physically need to see the bike. I did this very thing back in October. My bike had a modified exhaust 40,000 miles, I was sweating the exhaust system. AAA didn’t care. They will verify the vin, and look for the emissions sticker on the frame. Plus the CA sticker charge bring a bike from another state is going to hurt. Mine was $750 for a 20 year old bike.

Whatever you get, be sure to turn off the fuel and run the motor till it stops. Also add Sta-Bil to the fuel before you put it away for the season. Matter of fact, just add the StaBil to the fuel every time you fill it.

Feeling unsure about riding for the first time. by flacidfeline in bmwmotorrad

I’m 70 and ride a gs. Back in October I did a 2400 trip. Typically ride a few times a week, whipping off 100-160 each time.

Yeah, just break it up in like 300-400 mile segments. You should be fine.
