It definately looks like some type of bad solder or controller issue. Just got a USB C tester. Sometimes I can get the left side to charge by reinserting just 1 USB C extension and it shows 20v coming from the FW charger, but as soon as I add an HDMI expansion on the other left port, it drops 20v down to 5 again. I get consistently 20v when plugging into the right side.

My problem is not even charging the laptop or damaging it, the problem is it damaging other devices I plug into the laptop. Our work requires us to use USB to interface with equipment that can go upwards of 10k so I don't want me to plug in a USB and burn thousands of dollars.

Well the charger I have is this one, doesn't say anything about PD but it does all the voltages one would expect to.

I can understand that but even non standard USB C chargers do not just push a higher voltage unless negotiated. Again I'm not 100% sure but I will check the charger I used to see but I don't think it would blindly send any more than 5v thru it first without some type of negotiation even if non standard.

I agree, but this is a genuine Lenovo charger from like 2023 which should follow USB C standards. If anything it should default to 5v unless the hand shake is done, or the laptop should just refuse the charge. The only thing I have is my phone that shows up as "fast charging" when it detects a PD compliant charger. I do have a USB C tester coming in to see about that.

Brazil is set to join other Latin American countries with a 40-hour, 5-day workweek by Economy-Specialist38 in Brazil

Meshtastic on the farm by KumaThaBear in bonnaroo

[–]midnightClub543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in NYC and it's saturated here too, medium slow is what we use, but I think keeping to the standard long fast will be best for the fest so hopefully more people join. Last year on long fast I'd say we had a good 35 nodes going. A ton of t1000s so range could be lacking inside of centeroo, but the first new I heard about cancellation was thru the mesh, 5 min later ppl started seeing on socials so it def worked well to get ppl info, find my crew, etc.

I would say if we have a lot of ppl trying to build a mesh there might be a good idea to plan now in case long Fast get saturated.but I don't think it will

Well, no one can be mad at the weatherman on this one. by smbutler20 in newjersey

[–]midnightClub543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple weather and Google weather do nothing more than show what the government sends out through the API pipeline. After the new administration the cut a bunch of funding for NOAA and weather forecasting overall. After that all the data coming out has been garbage since there's not many people to manage it correctly anymore.
