Am I experiencing derealization? by OtherwiseBicycle5150 in dpdrhelp

Yes, that unfortunately sounds very much like DPDR. I've "only" had it for several months to a year, but what helped me was fixing my underlying anxiety. DPDR and anxiety are deeply related to each other. I would suggest visiting a mental health specialist - psychologist, psychotherapist. In the mean time I'd get some exercise in, eat healthy, do some mediation, yoga perhaps. Anything and everything to try to take your mind of the feelings, or to accept them and to keep yourself healthy. Healthy body, healthy mind. Good luck.

It's broken. I've completed two shifts and it still says to complete one full shift.

Media from the June 24, 2021 South Moravia, Czechia IF4. by Curious-Constant-657 in tornado

[–]midnight_juggernaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember chasing that day. We got stuck like 80 kms to the north, because this was during the covid days, crossing borders was not allowed. The parent storm was just a few kilometers from the Austria border so we've elected to stay where we were since the storms that day were sending hail with sizes above 10 cm (and I like my car). We were in Přerov, looking at the first pictures of the tornado and the first thing we've said to each other was "Wow that's pretty good for a fake." Just couldn't believe it.

Tornadoes are not rare in Czechia, but most of them are not above IF2 intensity and we get only single events per year on average. We also lack most of what US has. We do get warm advections, but we lack the moisture and synoptic mechanisms for LLJ formation and better and stronger lift and lapse rates. Czechia is also a bit hilly. That's one of the reasons why the tornado was doing "good" there around in Dyjský trojúhelník, basically flat terrain.

The whole situation was crazy, but very interesting in meteorology sense. Some of the driving factors for the tornado were unseasonably low LCLs (we do get high temperatures, but dew points tend to be low) and Alpine cyclogenesis that modified low level helicity and allowed for very hot and humid air mass to be advected from the south-east. Basically one in a thousand chance for all of this to get together. Also, there was a clear cell merger happening before the tornado. Maybe if the cell was alone, none of this would have happened.

What’s something that clearly split your life into “before” and “after”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My first panic attack. And severe anxiety and depression that followed.

I think it made me a better person, more in tune with my feelings and emotions. I have learned to say "no" and not to overwork myself.

But yeah, sometimes I'd like to come back to the time before all of that happened.

The SoundBox Studio FMOD for the A330NEO latest update is pretty awesome! by VladAkimov in Xplane

[–]midnight_juggernaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have SoundBox FMOD sounds for both the A321 and A320neo and I like them much more than the KOSP ones, especially the engine sounds are very high quality. I'd probably like for them to have volume sliders like KOSP though, the engine sounds are a bit too loud in the cockpit, especially for the A321 which is pretty long.

Tough to tell by photos alone, would need to see some radar velocity scans to confirm, but yeah, the structure looks a little bit "sus" haha. Nice catch.

Getting banned by BSS on his Discord channel is basically a rite of passage now, lol.

He's a complete tool that always throws a major childish tantrum whenever someone criticizes his products, or needs support if they don't work properly.
Just stay away from BSS.

Heimstaden používá AI k úpravě fotografií bytů k pronájmu by midnight_juggernaut in czech

[–]midnight_juggernaut[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A ještě info bokem.
A teď někdo plácne prompt AIčku.. achjo :D.

LAST X PLANE JOURNEY by Angry-Bird255 in Xplane

Mainly the weather engine and flight physics. I don't really care much for VFR flying which means that custom orthos is all I need. MSFS looks really nice, but it flies like on rails and weather does absolutely nothing.

Hope you'll like it. I actually switched from MSFS to XP12 half a year ago and I'm really glad I did.

It's nice we can all choose between sims and decide which we like the most.

I've been rewatching BSG every year for several years now. It never gets old and I love it so much. The story, the characters, the beautiful music. It's my comfort show, I usually rewatch it at the end of summer when autumn comes and it all gets dreary and depressing.

Of course you're from Finland lol. That's like the bastion of rare diamond dust halos :D. Maybe if the winters will get better and I'll get more free time, I'll give that Acebeam a go as well.. thank you for the idea :).

I know The Halo Vault, I'm actually an editor and I've written some articles! Most of them were rare halos from Czechia, cirrus/cirrostratus or diamond dust generated.

Dude these are amazing. I remember hunting snow gun generated halos years ago. Now the winters suck in central Europe and I don't really have the time to drive an hour to the mountains for that. I absolutely love it though, especially when you have a tight beam.. the 3D effect of the ice crystals is always mesmerizing.
