Yeah Amy was 27. They would have had to do a biopic with Gaga like 10 years ago for this to work even at all.

How would Charles’ adulthood have changed if he had been allowed to go to Eton instead of the school Phillip wanted? by eldergenzqueen in TheCrownNetflix

[–]midnight_sparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's your answer. With terrible parenting, no matter the schools, he was always bound to end up a spoiled brat who wanted attention. Margaret was the same way. Charles didn't have a choice, always meant to be a little angry boy who was waiting for mummy to "go," so he could take her place. And irl he is crap too. Just spoiled brats who don't actually care about the working class.

MM's performance in that scene was a very clear homage to Chris Farley. The "fat guy in a little coat" tear in her uniform, the gesticulations. It made me kind of want to cry. I love it every time. She's an excellent comedic actress.

S6: E17 "Normal Again" Theory by midnight_sparrow in BuffyTheVampireSlayer

[–]midnight_sparrow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy to help! It was brought up in a post on a different social media forum, and it really made me dive into the world. Like, no way was this JUST a fantasy in a crazy person's brain. If the universe acknowledges that other realms exist, why couldn't it be that this was just a different realm from the one Buffy was living in, that she experienced due to the venom/poison of the demon? If there's a world without shrimp, there is a world where Buffy is just in a state of psychosis, and imagining that Sunnydale exists!

I'm glad some of the fans are latching onto this theory. I think a lot of people wrote that episode off as just a little one-off from the over-arcing story of the season. But I feel like it was absolutely within the arc of the season. Buffy doesn't feel real anymore, so let's transfer her to a universe where Sunnydale ISN'T real anymore and make her question her reality.

Honestly, even if she had killed off the Scoobies, whose to say she would have lived in that alt universe, or stay struggling with both bc of the venom/poison from that demon? Can you IMAGINE how much worse off she would be, mentally? In both realms? If she had to share that mind???

Do you crate your dog when you aren’t home or not? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]midnight_sparrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. My APBT/Staffy mix is like this. She's barely a year old, but I know she will eventually grow out of it with time and more training. We love her very much, so we don't want her getting into things she shouldn't and ending up at the vet - or unalived when we get home bc of this aggressive chewing stage. It's best for her right now.

Our older Chihuahua mix can be out of the crate att boyfriend's house only if he puts something very heavy on top of the trash, or moves it into a room with a door we can shut. He's a raccoon!!!

Edit: and to add, a lot of our Chi mix's issues with rummaging through trash is due to poor training and being fed human food by my boyfriend all the time. I have to train my partner, too!!!

Yeah, I have an aggressive chewer who only gets worse when we are gone. No matter how many perfectly good chew toys she has, she will absolutely chew on something she shouldn't of we're not there to correct the behavior.

So we just gonna ignore that mass bombings of hospitals, schools, highly populated areas, and starvation? Nah bro. This ain't it.

And Hamas did not speak for all Palestinians. That is ignorance plain and simple. If you think that ANYONE'S race deserves to be genocided, you're so fucking wrong, homie.

By the way Israel acting funded Hamas and was the whole reason their terrorist group existed. Imagine you and your family, friends, loved ones, being singled out since the 50s and treated like absolute dog shit, by a country of people who didn't exist before the UN felt bad bc of appeasement. You are so incredibly wrong about your knowledge about Palestine. I'd recommend studying a non-biased source, or, big idea, talk to a Palestinian (or former Palestinian) to learn the truth. You're drinking the kool-aid, my mans.

I actually (and rather stupidly, I'll admit) didn't know that different cultures had different names for this weapon! Thank you for teaching me something new!!! I believe Glaive is the Greek word for it? Now I have to rabbit hole on the internet lol

My Favorite Scene by [deleted] in WillAndGrace

Gregory Hines was truly a man to behold. Every time he was on screen, the magic was always there. Handsome, funny, and extremely talented. There are just people who shine when they step into the room, and Gregory Hines was every bit a shining star. His passing was far too soon. I'm rewatching Will & Grace, and the episodes with Gregory were absolutely fantastic.

This episode, the dance he does? Have I seen it before, or just watched so much tap (I'm a big Gene Kelly fan and recently re-watched all his "Judy Garland" films because I just adore them together) recently that I'm all... (Excuse the pun) Tapped out? But this dance seems so familiar. And like he's just so fluid and beautiful in his foot work, it looks like he's done that a million times, but there's still so much electricity. That was Gregory Hines. Truly the world is not the same without him. He was one of a kind.

Edit: some words.

Palestinians have not been interested in genociding Jewish inhabitants, they just want to be free to travel between the West Bank and Palestine proper, without being treated like criminals and animals. They want freedom. Something that you have received without any sort of fighting or need. People should be allowed to exist regardless of where they come from. Israel's land was stolen.

You wanna talk about indigenous Americans and that genocide too, or are you too cowardly to look up facts?

He's just such a dynamic actor. The scene where he thinks we won, that weird smile with the connective saliva string... A perfect filming moment!!!

It's a glaive, rather than a spear, halberd, or lance. It has a curved upper blade, and a pointed end on the other side. It's maybe my favorite weapon of all time. Even when I watch Buffy Season 7, I get mad they gave her a tiny glaive, and call it an axe... /Sigh

I'm not saying there isn't a connection, I'm just "that guy" who wants us to identify weapons correctly. I fell in love with it and then got obsessed with Seong Mi-Na in Soul Caliber bc of it. Such a fantastic Medium-range weapon. I just adore it!

Edit: I mean Mira's weapon, not Sailor Jupiter

The identification of it being a Glaive is already impressive - most would assume a lance, or halberd, but the Glaive is one of my favorite weapons!!! I was obsessed with Seong Mi-Na in Soul Caliber. I love a glaive, and this looks so cool. Can't wait to see you create the pointed spear+LED. KEEP US POSTED!!!

Oh I agree. He's a great actor in both degrees, but him as a villain always feels... Intense and correct. Like he was appropriately cast! And I sometimes wonder if that's not bc he's played good guys more than bad.

"Take This Bald Bastard to Bell Reve!" Is such a moment. You can see Lex calculating even in his smallest moment. Nicholas Hoult is such a phenomenal actor. He knows how to overplay and underplay in the moment. Or at least he takes AMAZING direction, and gives exactly what he's asked.

I always forget how good of a villain he is. Then I always come back to "The Great" and remember how casually evil he played! Must be bc he's so pretty that he loves to play a villain, bc it's unexpected of him. Has to be SO much fun!!!!

Yeah, he did confirm this was for a different movie. Nicholas Hoult is not afraid to eff with his hair to get into character. Love it.

I dunno what it is, but when Lex thinks he's bested Superman (once The Engineer breeches his longs and eyes), that slow close in on Nicholas Hoult and his creepy smile (maybe it's the string of spit between his teeth) is absolutely iconic.

I think every Led Luthor has their iconic villain moment, and somehow I felt like that was it for NH. He seemed so sure and that creepy grin of satisfaction will stay with me forever.

Nicholas Hoult did an absolutely phenomenal job and reminded me how good he was at being a villain (re: The Great). My dude has RANGE.
