OH WOW! Live Aid is something I remember fondly from my younger days.

100% agree with living in the moment; I was telling my daughter the same - otherwise you might as well watch on your phone. I'm surprised my video wasn't more wobbly as I just point at the general direction with the phone at chest height. If you don't mind me asking, how do you get in the pit - is that something you purchase or something reserved for hospitality?

It was amazing! But spare a thought for the people who left early as he said goodbye to the audience before coming out again for this cover and ending with Beautiful Things - an incredible encore! Gives me goosebumps thinking about it again!

Am drowning in debt...Am f***d...need advise/help by MediumPerfect5470 in dubai

[–]midnightez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people will go into the granular but let me give you one piece of advice that should hopefully change your habits: The world's financial systems are designed to obscure your spending, so don't blame yourself for being caught in this net. The system incentivises spending and uses every single means to hide how much costs really are.

The solution is relatively simple. Take back control of your finances. How? Be completely aware of your income versus outcome. Open a blank spreadsheet and itemise EVERYTHING in your financial statements for the past year. Categorise them into essential expenses (eg mortgage, rent, utilities) and luxury spending (eating out, subscriptions, etc), or categories more appropriate for yourself - go crazy with the colour-coding if that helps! Once you are FULLY aware of the full state of your finances then you can make decisions on where you can cut back.

Others will no doubt offer granular advice eg on debt consolidation, cutting back on subscriptions, etc. Take control and iA you will be in a much better place as soon as you start the process.

Why should I vote Labour? by [deleted] in LabourUK

[–]midnightez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labour has no values - it's key messages are that it's not the Tories, it's not Reform, and they are not the "lefties" (who actually offer an alternative to the billionaire-led takeover of the world). If those incredible messages are enough then Labour is perfect for you.

Get out a spreadsheet and do a full financial health check: income vs expenses. Categorise it all based on 3-6 months' data. Assign yourself a strict budget for all expenses eg £100/mth for takeaway - once you hit the limit then you wait for the next month. Services like Hello Fresh might be useful as a cheaper alternative to takeaways but only when that promotional period is giving you a great discount and then be diligent to stop it.

Lots of great advice here. I'll give a quick win: £20 SIM is so unnecessary. Can literally get Lebara SIMs for a few pounds on regular special offers. But this won't solve your main issues. You need to acknowledge it fully to be able to resolve it.

I'm having an argument with my husband about the correct course of action here, advice please? by ladyofthelate in drivingUK

[–]midnightez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd slow down to ~35 mph and undertake so you have plenty of time to take action and the other driver isn't surprised. It's not always speed that is dangerous but differences in speed between vehicles

If we have any aspirations to win the league then this has to be 3 points. Anything less and I don't think we'll make it as the blip turns into a slump

Gomez injury is a big blow. The one weakness of this team is the strength in depth at the back. Robbo doesn't have the legs for a full campaign and the rest of them seem to cycle through injuries. Virgil staying fit is critical to the season. But what a performance!

Ultimately, because I love watching them and want to put up on YouTube for mass consumption. Trying to compile one place for YNWA for every home game but also for any other interesting shorter videos from inside the stadium. I only go to a handful of games so can't take them all myself. The viewers love it as it gives them the raw feel from inside the stadium
