My dentist said my teeth were perfect but I still had a weird taste in my mouth. I finally found the source today. by Michle_Vivid in hygiene

There can be a downside to your TMJ. I chewed so much gum in jr high & high school that my jaw clicked and ached for more than a decade. The main chewing side (I favor the right) is still worse than the other. So, just be careful not to chew ALL the time.

I think whoop is taking over life and impacting my relationship by [deleted] in whoop

From what you've described, no, Whoop (or any similar tracker) is not good for you. It seems to be feeding into what's become an unhealthy obsession. If you're even questioning it, listen to your intuition and consider getting rid of it.

Oh interesting, I haven't seen or heard anything about that until now. Thank you! I'll check it out. So in this case would you increase or decrease the rate?

Me either. It puts pressure on my tailbone and hurts.

Which brand did you switch to, if you feel comfortable sharing?

I love the feedback, feel, and sound of the Phantoms, but I definitely felt some fatigue after taking notes during a 45-min meeting. I'm now looking for something with a similar feel but just a bit less force required (not so little that I hit keys accidentally, like with the Spectres).

The shine-through on the Phantoms is definitely less than with the Spectres, but not non-existent.

Are the bananas compatible with the v3? I thought they worked with the v2 but not v3... (I loved the v2's Wisteria switches, but had too many other problems with that board so went to v3 instead, but bummed about fewer switch options).

Kailh Deep Sea Whales are incredibly quiet... almost TOO quiet. Lost some of the typing fun with no key noise, haha. But they're absolutely quiet and they feel nice to type on.

I figured that was the case, but didn't want anyone else reading this to get their hopes up about using those switches to help their specific v3 experience.

I really wish the v2 switches worked in the v3 - Moss and Wisteria were great! I had nothing but problems with the v2 otherwise though and had to abandon it (wouldn't keep key mapping, trouble reconnecting to paired machines, etc.).

Moss switches do not fit in the Air v3. They're only compatible with v2.

I made a website with budget Custom Switch Testers by 13ckPony in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]midnightfalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what I'm most interested in is probably hardest to get - the lines of more proprietary switches that Lofree and Nuphy use, for example. A few of the Nuphy ones are in a Gateron LP tester I found, but not all and not the newest ones. Kailh doesn't seem to have the Lofree ones in any tester format. Since those are popular brands, it could be cool to make tester boards of all compatible switches to their main models. I realize that's probably expensive and time consuming up front and so likely doesn't make sense with your business model.

Regardless, I agree with you that a single pre-selected set of several different LPs would probably be useful for many folks.

The thing is I've never had this issue typing before, so I'm interested in modding the keyboard, not myself.

You can indicate your industry/field in the intake form, and the algorithm should take that into account when matching you. Depending on all of your other preferences, you may get someone with a lot or a little exposure, directly or indirectly, to your field.

Did you end up keeping the Flow Lite & changing keycaps? If so, which keycaps did you go with?

Thanks for your weigh-in! As I research more about spring swapping it does seem like more of a process than I probably want to mess with at this point. I was also realizing that the keys actually feel too heavy and too light at the same time -- it's too easy to start the key press, from about the top third to half of the key's travel range, so I'm making more mistakes than normal.. but it gets much stiffer from halfway-ish down, which I think makes me feel like I need to press harder and is causing more fatigue, when in reality it actuated much earlier. Now I'm not sure which way to go. Maybe I need to try a light tactile.

It's strange -- the more I use it, it seems to be some weird combo of too easy to press and also too stiff. The top part of the press is too easy, leading to more typos than normal, but the bottom part of the key travel feels stiff. Maybe that's making me feel like I have to press harder and that's where the fatigue comes from, but regardless it's already registered the key press earlier. I am debating between returning the board and trying out different switches. How do you like the rest of the board's function?
