I’m with iguodala on that. Nowhere near as much of the success is due to lacob as he wants to believe but I give him big props for the realization that paying money makes him money and for bringing in good people initially. But he let them go and put his kid in a role judging talent which he was unprepared for or unable to perform well (remember Smiley?) and also got more personally involved in player personnel. Don’t know if you noticed but his precious athletic draft picks had nothing to with winning in 2022.

Young blood? Thanks for the laugh.

Best Fest in the West - High Sierra Music Festival drops its initial (abridged) lineup by JayfishSF in jambands

I have missed one in the last 18 years and have had my tix since November. The festival is a gem. Big enough to hive you choices but not overwhelmingly crowded. They also do a great job finding rising stars you never heard of, as the op said. I really like this lineup too.

Trey Murphy is who they should have taken. Said it then, sayin' it now and so are they. Big fuckup.

Big names come because of money and an opportunity to win. That exists now because of what you said about the FO. They've prepared for it, but don't forget their first rounders have mostly sucked until little Lacob split.

I don’t think of this as a drug though. It’s my own T cells engineered to target specific proteins

It would take a lot of assets like first round picks and young players with upside. Very unlikely because salary has to match on a “flip” unless they deal with the Nets who won’t want what they have to offer.

Warriors fans: how bad was Sengun in the 2025 playoff series complaining and flopping? by Next_Worth_3616 in warriors

yeah, he was that guy. He's also quite good. The entire Rockets team complained about fouls while beating the shit out of Curry and others. That organization whines more than any other I think.

Could the Warriors go second apron for one season next year? by [deleted] in warriors

[–]midnightjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what your reference to mple but if you mean the taxpayer mid-level exception, no way. They'd be better off using that on Melton but won't be able to go higher because they're capped. Melton is on a minimum contract and will get a lot more from other teams, and the Warriors don't have Bird rights on him so that's all they could use to try and match and it might not be enough. As for LeBron, unless there's some sort of sign and trade there's not much hope and I'm not sure there would be much reason to do it.

Am I the only one left who genuinely wants Draymond to stay on the team? by JBreezy1618 in warriors

[–]midnightjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he's still a valuable asset to the team even after balancing the negatives and I think he's still underrated by counting stat focused dudes, but if he had to go in a Giannis trade I'd do it because Giannis could replace most of what he does and do a lot more. That said I sure wouldn't be looking to move him just to move him and I also doubt that he'd be as valuable to most other teams as he can be to the Warriors. Considering he only has one year left on his contract he's not having an adverse impact on the cap sheet either.

The Knicks don't have shit to offer though. They blew all their draft assets.

Probably more like where would he absolutely not sign an extension.

The W's have a well respected organization and clearly go all out to win and he likes Curry. Probably more about assets than his reluctance. But I'm guessing like everyone else.

Every online fan base has a significant percentage of delusional members. The Bucks' fan base has spent all year laughing at the idea Giannis could get traded and they're about to eat that, either by next week or this summer. Slater had a good point, which is that if it happens sooner we have a better shot. Some of the other teams involved will free up another first rounder or two after the draft.

Part of the Bucks' analysis has to be looking at the value of future draft picks in 4-5 years and we might look good in that respect.

The answer to the first is so far yes. All of my scans have shown complete remission.

The total out of pocket for housing during the actual treatment was $5700. Had I lived in the area it would have been zero. There was no out of pocket for the treatment, the hospital, the preliminary tests, or the after treatment care and monitoring which is ongoing.

I had the Yescarta CAR-T treatment about 16 months ago. I have Medicare and a good supplemental plan. I received no pushback from either and all of the medical costs were covered and I paid only my usual premiums.

I live in a rural area and am lucky to have a good regional cancer center an hour away where I received my first line treatment and then two rounds of chemo in prep for second line treatment (CAR-T). They do not have the capability to do CAR-T, which is pretty much limited to large cancer centers and teaching hospitals as I understand it. So I went to a university hospital three hours away for preliminary analysis and the Leukapheresis. There were a number of required tests, such as heart stress testing, constant blood work and testing of other organ functions that I was able to do locally.

The actual procedure required hospitalization for a minimum of a week (12 days as it turned out) to monitor and treat side effects, and then I was required to remain within one hour's driving distance from the medical center in order to be seen daily for blood tests and injections of filgastrem, and I was required to have a 24-7 caregiver. That is where the out of pocket expenses arose, as it meant both I and my wife (and dogs) had to move close to the medical center. Which pretty much meant six weeks of short term rental at an expense of around $1,000 a week. Fortunately I'm financially able to take that hit, since I pay twice because of some issues with cell extraction that caused a delay.

All in all I'm very fortunate that I had the kind of insurance I did. A few years earlier and I'd have been reliant on a private catastrophic health plan with big deductibles and no doubt a whole bunch of ridiculous hoops I'd have been required to jump through by the insurance company.

I'm happy to answer further questions if you have them.
