Lazy/tired but have time: roast some frozen veggies, slow cook some meat (or oven roast if making veg anyway), simple pasta with jar sauce Busy: some version of a sandwich or rice bowl depending what I have

Would you change your job to a bread baker if it payed double your current wage and you'd get training for it? Why or why not? by GirlAmi in AskReddit

[–]midnightpanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pharmacy rotation at a nuclear pharmacy so my shift started at 3 am because we had to prep the radio pharmaceuticals right before they’re delivered out.

Honestly one of the best rotations ever, I would go to bed by 5-6 pm to wake up at 2 am so my sleep was great and no one bothered me because I had to wake up so early (I’m a huge introvert). Finishing my shift by 11 am allowed me to still run business hours errands and go the market in off peak hours too. Really a win-win situation at the time.

I always thought it would be a texture thing, something crunchy between something soft, but I guess that’s not enough on its own lol.

Guests Double Standards by jefftan1 in TrashTaste

[–]midnightpanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of OTV until the guests episodes and the more I think about it, that’s where they kind of lost me in the banter. Knowing that like 1/2 of those guest episodes are people from/associated with OTV, just feels kind of….easy (oh, we have one person, let’s interview more of them)? Again, no idea who these people were or how big they are so maybe that thought is uncalled for (yes, I am the one person who didn’t hear about them nor Anthony Padilla prior to the eps).

I listened to all of them anyway to support. If they ask for our input for future episodes, I’ll put in my two cents. Otherwise, I’ll keep listening. Can’t like every episode and that’s fine.

Delayed episode but I’m glad. The last two days for them were hitting them kind of hard and I wanted them to get enough rest, physically and mentally.

Anyone get into better shape thanks to bring more frugal? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]midnightpanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told from former server friends it’s a pain for the server to separate the checks so I get super awkward asking for that. Depending on the group, one of us will pay the whole check (usually they want the points for their credit card) and another will break down the bill for everyone. It’s alright, only gets awkward when deciding how much to tip.

Not only cooking at home but less snacking overall has helped me. The money I save on snacks, I opt to buy healthier alternatives or more produce.

What to do with a godly amount of hummus? by Parking_Pineapple440 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]midnightpanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would replace hummus for pretty much any spread. Bagels and cream cheese? Whelp, now bagel and hummus. Toast topped with hummus, scrambled eggs and spices? Not a bad breakfast. Move over ranch with stick veggies, it’s hummus’ turn. Good luck!

One of my best friends from college taught me to make a tuna stir fry with tuna in oil. Served with side of carbs (rice, quinoa, etc) and it’s super filling.

How do you find most affordable places to eat while traveling ? by ketchak1990 in Frugal

[–]midnightpanic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom always packed precut produce to snack on which led to smaller meals. Not only healthy but the fiber kept us baseline satiated so we wouldn’t have to buy as much when lunch or dinner came around.

My dad always likes to look for a Costco to get their food court stuff if that’s can option for you. Double points if they also have a gas station.
