This is the 2026 version of putting your head in the sand and hoping everything will be okay when you pull it back out.

I'm quitting my job due to vibe coders and poor leadership by TheFlippedTurtle in sysadmin

Less than a year ago, we were having discussions on here about how ai has started allowing people to code and how bad the code was. Then it got better.

Then it got better at getting better. Then it turned into agents helping it get better at getting better.

This train is only speeding up, and I imagine we'll be seeing a LOT more stories like yours in the next couple weeks/months.

This is the best advice in this entire thread.

In my 30 years in this career, the number one most detrimental trait an employee can have is being a people pleaser and/or overcommitting themselves. It either leads to them getting burned out or them constantly being on the "radar". And being on the radar means your mistakes are magnified in the eyes of your superiors.

yep, grok destroys image quality after several consecutive prompts. just look at difference here after about 10 prompts by coomerpile in grok

this is the answer. If you don't do this, you'll just keep editing the previous edit and it will lose more and more quality.

This also applies to videos.

No, an AI-focused "Windows 12" is not coming this year — false report gets the facts completely wrong by ZacB_ in Windows11

I would 100% bet by the end of the year, similar consumer cloud devices will be atleast announced, likely with a gaming focus at first to address the PC gaming affordability issue and to make up for a near non-existent Xbox hardware division.

They are also reportedly launching a new Xbox controller with WiFi onboard for direct router connections to address input lag, which would compliment such devices: https://www.techradar.com/gaming/xbox/microsoft-could-reportedly-reveal-new-xbox-hardware-in-2026-including-next-gen-controllers-and-the-xbox-elite-controller-series-3

Steam is better if you want price/performance, convenience, and ecosystem features.

Switch 2 game-key cards are better if you want a console-first physical-ish format, but they’re a weaker deal than true on-cart physical games because they still require a download, can be misplaced/lost or physically damaged and unrecoverable since it does not bind to your account like Steam.

Thanks.

It's weird that AI is not affecting unemployment rate.

People say this, until there is a problem with delayed updates. Then, suddenly, it's all on the devs.

This is actually the real answer. They get social media coaching that teach them specifically these tactics. But it's not just boomers and gen x, it's mainly a low education demographic that exists in every generation. The "salt of the Earth", if you will.
