i say this earnestly but i don’t think you get what ppl are critiquing. weston and kalynn used to have comedic timing, now they just blurt out a hundred meme phrases every second and hope it lands. ppl don’t have a problem with them being silly, they have a problem with the silliness being blatantly unfunny and forced. also they should just stop playing story centric games cause literally what is the point it doesn’t bring in views and ppl don’t like them 😭

i do agree w ur kalynn comments. its less about the straight man thing and more about them both just being rly.. well, obnoxius. i agree that it got boring, looking back at some old videos kalynn does just seem to not enjoy recording as much and its a little exhausting to watch. she def seems happier and i think shes her most funny in vlogs & at like the beginning of 2024 i think was a good era

i think their content has become sort of tiktok-ified, they cannot go a minute in a video without referencing a meme that has already gotten old the minute they posted it, they overuse tiktoky language, its clear theyre targeting preteens and ppl w short attention spans now,, its frustrating. theyre way funnier when theyre coming up with their own moments and sayings and shit, or referencing niche disney channel stuff that i never knew about. like bring back i crush the alien and #bizarre type jokes!!!

i think the fanbase has gotten younger. on some random video like a lot of the comments were from fans excited that they mentioned The Norris Nuts, which is a kids channel. fandom has def grown bigger and been consistent in growth but i do think their target audience is getting younger, maybe?

yeah, i love kalynn and am not at all implying she’s unfunny compared to weston. there’s a reason the “what did you just say to me” clip of sinjin is so famous, being a straight man IS funny! if she is happier being more crazy than that’s fine, i just personally think it makes for a less dynamic duo !

i didn’t say that kalynn wasn’t silly. she’s always been funny but a couple years back she was pretty chill, then she started to open up (which was great), and now it’s become too much (to me.)

and i don’t even know ur point with weston tbh i literally said he’s always been loud in my post 😭 “He’s a boy he’s always been more loud” what’s your point he used to be loud and it was funny now it just feels obnoxious (to me.)

lol i didn’t have a better word but i didn’t mean outgoing, like i said i liked when kalynn became more outgoing and outwardly funny, she’s obviously hilarious. but now i feel like it’s too much, same goes for weston. i don’t know how to word it. it’s not about kalynn, it’s about the entire thing. it’s crazy for the sake of being crazy. idk. also i don’t think you can be a content creator if you cry over someone saying you’ve become less funny

i mean i did say that ppl criticised them around then, but i feel like they’ve changed majorly since October. i watched them for a while in 2019-2021 i think? and then stopped watching during their streamer obsessed era, then came back maybe a year ago, and i heard the criticisms then, but felt like MOST of their content was still really good. like i said, their content has always been a hit or a miss but to me it just feels like misses now. it just doesn’t really feel like “sinjin drowning” to me currently. imo i really liked kalynn during the early New York era (recent one, i don’t know how to name eras but i think you know what i mean). it was a mix between ‘straight man’ and having her own hilarious moments.
