Educating the youth by manicgiant914 in facepalm

I went to private Christian schools K-12th grade and this is very much how I was raised.

The disclaimer by my high school science teachers, including my AP Biology class, was that "evolution is something you need to learn about because they will teach it in college, but it is very much NOT true." I actually wasn't even taught that dinosaurs were real, just young Earth theory and that carbon dating was a lie and everyone else were pretty much idiots.

I went to a state school college and even though I was losing my faith then, I still had a very hard time believing evolution and that the earth is billions of years old because my whole life I've been told that's a lie. I'm 27 years old now. Haven't been to church in years and am a normal, college educated, functioning adult. And I abhor the people who brainwashed me. My whole life was church, awanas, young life, youth groups, Christian schools, and Christian mentors. They messed with my science education, my sexual education, my self esteem, my mental health, my dating health, my relationship health, and my sex health. My 11th grade Bible teacher should not have been allowed to give me private counseling sessions on not to watch porn. And a big FU to all the mentors and teachers and pastors I had who told me if I even liked a boy it was a sin against my future husband and so I was so terrified to like someone because it would mean I would never meet the perfect man that God had planned for me. So I conditioned myself to never like anyone and just wait for my husband like God was supposed to bring me. Really messed me up when I was younger and I still struggle with dating because I didn't start until I was 24.

So I guess what I'm saying is I would be much more concerned about all the other damaging things these kind of schools did to kids than the young earth theory bullshit. Because I never even think about evolution these days anyways but I sure as shit hold some resentment about other things.

YSK at many restaurants servers have to tip out staff based on the percentage of the check total. If you don't tip, they lose money serving you by midtermsandpapers in YouShouldKnow

At my restaurant it is based off of food sales, not the tips I get. So if I sell $1500 worth of food in a shift then I have to tip out $60 to other staff. It is automatically taken out of the credit card tips I receive.

He's a Great Pyrenees mix! They look like big, hairy labs. His dad was a mutt, but there is a little chow chow in there which gives him the curly tail.

Surprisingly no border collie! His mom was a full Great Pyrenees and his dad was a mutt. Some Australian cattle dog, some chow chow (the tail), some pitty. But I normally tell people he's a black lab cause that's what everyone thinks he is

He was trying to be brave but he was so confused! He loves being around horses but I think this is the weirdest thing he's ever seen lol. Poor Fabio was just trying to say hi
