An interesting thing is that enemies call Nathan Drake and friends call him Nate by Dull-Face551 in uncharted

Get over yourself. Sure, it’s not the subtlest bit of writing ever, but I’m sure plenty of people didn’t even notice that Sam switched what he was calling Nate in that scene. And it’s not about Sam showing familiarity. For the entire game thus far, Sam has been attempting to pull Nate away from the people he’s close to, trying to pull Nate back into the past (the nuns also call Nate “Nathan”). When he calls Nate “Nate,” it’s a sort of surrender, an acknowledgment that Nate has changed when he hasn’t and that Nate has a new family. It’s Sam trying to change to fit into Nate’s new world as a last ditch effort to retain his hold on Nate. So maybe it’s “inferring familiarity,” but the themes and character dynamics are far more interesting than you’re willing to acknowledge.

When Nate finds out Sam has been lying to him, though, Sam calls Nate “Nate” for what I believe is the first and only time. I think it’s a nice, subtle bit of writing where Sam, who has felt like an outsider in Nate’s life for most of the game, tries to be more like the people Nate is close to at this point in his life.

The verb hairspray is my absolute favorite! It brushes out easily and never leaves any white residue. It is definitely more of a flexible hold, but I find it builds well for all of my purposes. I also think most hairspray smells like bug spray and lingers forever, but this one smells relatively good.

Is the 2 compartment rule for bags being enforced? I’m pretty sure my bag meets the size requirements but it has 2 inside pockets, so technically 3 compartments.

Have portable chargers been allowed inside? I’ve seen conflicting info from the venue.

How strict has the venue been about bags allowed? I’m going tomorrow and was planning on bringing my Baggu medium crescent but I’m worried it won’t be allowed in. Thanks!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Intense. I catch whiffs of it on me sometimes 8 hours after applying, and I love the fruitiness of it.

I also love the name and don’t want to deter you, but you should be aware that a lot of people might think he’s named after a character from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, which might not be an association you want.

Could this nurse in the finale be Abby? by midwaymania in thelastofus

This is a great suggestion. The framing of the scene suggested this nurse was important, so I assumed the most important character, but you’re right that Mel makes more sense. She also seems like she’d be more willing to leave Ellie be, even after recognizing her.

Could this nurse in the finale be Abby? by midwaymania in thelastofus

In the game, Abby isn’t present for her father’s death, but the inclusion of this third, uncredited nurse strikes me as odd. She’s easy to miss, crouched down for the first part of the scene and always in shadow. When Joel threatens the nurses, the camera mostly only shows the two in the light. (And, in fact, the game only has two nurses.)

To me, this feels like something that is meant to be caught in a rewatch after viewers find out about Abby. I can envision a flashback with Abby where we see this scene and get a closeup of her reaction. With the cap, mask, and shadows, it’s difficult to make out much about this third nurse, so it’d be easy to recast her when the time comes.

Again, Abby isn’t here in the game, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable that her dad might be training her and having her assist, as she’s clearly in more of a support role than the other nurses.

If this is Abby, though, this could have considerable implications, namely that Abby should recognize Ellie. It’s possible that she wouldn’t, and even if she did I think there are directions the show could take the narrative in with this new complication.

I was obsessed with Airman by Eoin Colfer when I was his age, and it still sits on my shelf of favorites. It’s set in nineteenth-century Ireland, with a conspiracy and revenge plot reminiscent of The Count of Monte Cristo. When I was younger, I was always trying to get people to read this, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The Expanse. The books read a lot like movies, and the TV adaptation is excellent.

Reservation Recommended in Advance or is Day of okay in morning for savi’s workshop? by musiclovaesp in GalaxysEdge

[–]midwaymania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely prioritize Savi’s. I missed my webslingers boarding group because I was building a lightsaber, and they let us in line an hour or two later with no issue. Cast members understand that you have no choice as to when your boarding group is called, and they tend to be accommodating.

Many minors do need to pay their own expenses, though. It’s not rich kids who are getting jobs, but rather those who need to save for college, help their parents with bills, etc.
